JOHANNESBURG WOMEN'S ZIONIST LEAGUE

Henrietta Szold Branch. - The usual monthly meeting of the Hen- rietta Szold branch was held on the 30th July, at the home of Mrs.

Tuback, Sylberta Court, Abel Road.

Miss Kussel presided over a good attendance. The meeting was ad- dressed by Mrs. Tager, who spoke on the life of Dr. Herzl. Various items of business were discussed and the meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the speaker and hostess.

BRAKPAN WOMEN'S ZIONIST LEAGUE

The fortnightly Sewing Circle of the above Society is being very well attended, and large numbers of ar- ticles are despatched regularly.

At a meeting held on the 28th July, at the home of Mrs. Melnick, Mrs. Feitleberg gave an i.nter.esting address in Yiddish, on the life of Theodor Herzl. Mrs. Altshuler pro- posed a vote of thanks to the speaker.

:Furman, 103 Hhodes Avenue, Brak- pan, on the 8th August. 1 he function proved a social, as well as a finan- cial success, and the Society's grateful thanks are due to Mrs. Fur- man for having made the holding of it possible.

BOKSBURG AND DISTRICT WOMEN'S ZIONIST SOCIETY

A social afternoon was held at the home of Mrs. B. Myer, 31 Sarel Cil- liers Street, Boksburg North, on Wed- Jlesday, 12th August, under the

auspices of the above society. Mrs.

Fredman addressed the meeting and a pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by all.

SUCCESSFUL VARIETY CONCERT

The Grand Variety Concert or- ganised by Cantor Albert Lubliner, at the City Hall, Johannesburg, on Saturday night, 15th August, in aid of the Navy War Fund, was very sue-

" cessful. The nett amount handed over to the Fund was £223 7s. 8d.
