SUCCESSFUL CONCERT IN AID OF PALESTINIAN

SOLDIERS' COMFORTS

The Grand Concert held on Wed- nesday, 18th March, at the Library Theatre in aid of Palestinian Soldiers' Comforts <lrew a crowded audience which fil1ed every seat. A feeling of enthusiasm for the cause pervaded the atmosphere. All the arti:-;ts received a hearty welcome.

There can be no doubt that the folk singing of Cantor I. Alter proved the h ighl igh t. of a really excellent pro- gramme. Another interesting feature was the production by Irene Cohn of the "Victo1·y V" in which the Palc:;- tine character 1·ecited excerpt:; from Isaiah. Worcester Ladies' Zionist League

After a long lapse due to the holi- days, the fortnightly sewing- circle of the above society once more gathered at the residence of Mrs.

Sonia Heller, on the 17th March.

There was a good attendance. Cut garments were handed out to mem- bers for sewing, to be ready for next month's despatch. A competition was held for baby wool. Tea was served, the proceeds being £1 18s. 6d.
