Conflict of interest: I declare no conflict of interest

This manuscript presents an attempt to test the reproducibility of the 24-h dietary recall in adolescents in a developing country. This manuscript provides important information on the use and limitations of the multiple 24-hour recall method for the assessment of dietary intakes of adolescents in a developing country. The 24-h recall is widely used for dietary intake assessment, but little has been published on the reproducibility of the method or the number of days required for multiple 24-hour recalls.

I trust that you will consider our manuscript favourably.

Yours sincerely

Dr D Rankin RD(SA)
