The University of the Free State’s well established Programme in Governance and Political Transformation successfully brings 21st
century politics to politicians and decision makers of today.
This programme is also offered on Bachelor and Ph.D levels High profile academics from various departments are presenting
the contemporary and futuristic course material of this multi- disciplinary programme to students, including leading politicians
and officials, enrolled from all over the country.
The leading academics involved in the programme aim at the advancement of political knowledge and the development of
political management-orientated skills in an environment of rapid change. This programme has been created to satisfy the
need for institutional capacity building, leadership development and the promotion of a value system which complements good
governance and forms the basis of democratic government.
