WHAT IS STRESS?

It is the body’s response to pressure

Stress can be either negative or positive

In most cases people become frustrated and very emotional and at times it can result in panic

For some it causes them to over work

WHAT CAUSES STRESS?

The main cause for stress is pressure

Most students suffer from pressure because of pressure from school work i.e assignments to hand in and studying for tests or exams

Again over thinking can cause stress especially when you have an exam ahead of you and you think what you know is not good enough

Stress is usually recognised by frequent head aches, high blood pressure, indigestion etc.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH STRESS?

You can start by getting enough sleep

Exercising like going for a morning jog

Eat healthier

Create time tables to follow or schedules for doing things to avoid panic and pressure

WAYS OF DEALING WITH STRESS

For students have a study time table to avoid pressure during exams

Get enough rest and stay away from caffeine and alcohol

Think of happy thought that will make you smile like birthday parties or friends graduating

Take a big breath, relax and starting your school work and remember to switch off your phone to avoid disturbances or things that will depress you during you study time

Make sure that you follow your time table or schedule

Avoid postponing things like when it come to your studying time

When you feel pressure building , go for a jog , sleep for a while or try to relax by listening to music
