To-morrow afternoon an exhibition of paintings by Mr. D. Koenig will be opened at the residence of l\Ir,.

The exhibition will be open to the public both to-morrow and Sunday (11th in t.) afternoons, from 3-6 p.m.
This exhibition should attract wide interest among art lovers in the city.
Mr. Koenig- is a Hungarian Jewish artist who came to this country near- ly six year. ago and who has been doing notable \Vork here. His paint- ing is characterised by freshness and sensitivity, and shows a vigorous style.
The exhibition will be opened at 3 p.m. by Mr. Edgar Bernst in.

On Thursday next (April 15), the Johannesburg Symphony Soci ty will hold its 24th concert in the Wanderers Hall. A programme of unusual in- terest and attraction will be pre- sented comprising Beethoven's Pas- toral Symphony, T chaikowsky's Nut- cracker Suite, and Dvorak's 'cello concerto with Miss Betty Pack as soloist. The orchestra of 60 player will be under the baton of Mr.
Joseph Trauneck.
NEXT BROADCASTING CONCERT.
The next concert of the South African Broadcasting Corporation's Symphony Orchestra will take place on Tuesday, the 13th inst., at the Jewish Guild Hall. The concert will commence at 9.30 p.m. and a most interesting programme will be pre- sented.
JOHANNE BURG REPERTORY PLAYERS.
The Johannesburg Repertory Play- ers are staging Lionel Hales' "The Mocking Bird" as their next produc- tion. The play will be presented at the New Library Theatre for four evenings, Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, the 23rd, 24th, 27th and 28th instant respectively, at 8.15 p.m.
"THREE SMART GIRLS'' AT THE COLOSSEUM.
"Three Smart Girls" is the current attraction at the Colosseum Theatre.
The three girls in question are the three daughters of a divorced million- aire, who try to prevent their father from marrying a gold-digger. Deanna Durbin, the amazing new singing star, plays the part of one of the daughters and the rest of the cast includes Binnie Barnes, Charles - Winninger, Alice Brady, Nan Grey and Barbara Reed. The first half of the pro- gramme is good, and Charles Manning and the Colosseum Orchestra con- tinue to please.
