2.11 TEORI RESAPAN INOVASI
2.11.1 KAJIAN LEPAS YANG MENGGUNAKAN TEORI RESAPAN INOVASI
Zainal (1998) menggunakan Teori Resapan Inovasi dalam bidang pendidikan di Malaysia di mana kajiannya tertumpu kepada pembuatan keputusan oleh guru-guru sama ada menerima atau menolak Projek Sains Nuffield dari United Kingdom ke dalam kurikulum sekolah menengah di Malaysia. Proses Inovasi-Keputusan yang bermula daripada peringkat penerimaan sehingga ke peringkat implementasi telah dikaji dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pembuatan keputusan telah dikenalpasti. Faktor-faktor tersebut termasuk sikap terhadap sifat-sifat inovasi yang disarankan oleh Rogers.
Cheah Phaik Kin (1999) juga mengaplikasikan Teori Resapan Inovasi dalam kajiannya yang melihat penerimaan Internet dalam kalangan pelajar Universiti Sains Malaysia. Beliau mengenalpasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kadar penerimaan Internet dalam kalangan pelajar-pelajar universiti, profil serta sifat pelajar-pelajar yang menerima internet serta melihat sifat-sifat inovasi yang mempengaruhi penerimaan atau penolakan inovasi. Hasil kajian mendapati tiada perbezaan antara pelajar aliran sains dan sastera tetapi dari segi jantina beliau mendapati lebih ramai pelajar perempuan menerima internet berbanding pelajar lelaki. Selain itu, kajiannya telah membuktikan kepentingan faktor sikap terhadap sifat-sifat inovasi dalam penerimaan sesuatu inovasi. Justeru itu, Cheah Phaik Kin (1999) menyarankan agar kajian beliau dapat dijadikan asas untuk membentuk strategi bagi menyokong proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam era teknologi informasi terkini.
Kajian yang hampir sama juga telah dijalankan oleh Jamaludin (1995) yang melihat penerimaan internet oleh pelajar-pelajar yang menuntut di luar negara dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penerimaannya. Kajian beliau mendapati internet lebih digunakan oleh pelajar-pelajar luar negara bagi tujuan sosialisasi dan mendapatkan berita dan maklumat tentang agama dan politik tetapi tidak ketara bagi tujuan akademik.
Seterusnya, Teori Resapan Inovasi digunakan oleh Tricia Lim (1999) yang membuat kajian tentang penerimaan komputer peribadi dalam kalangan masyarakat Malaysia. Tricia Lim (1999) mengenalpasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi
