KAJIAN LITERATUR

2.1 Pengenalan

Dalam bab kedua ini dibincangkan berkaitan dengan konsep-konsep kajian dan mengemukakan kajian-kajian lepas yang telah dijalankan dan digunakan yang menjadi asas kajian ini. Melalui kajian-kajian lepas dengan membuat perbandingan konsep dari konsep utama kajian, penyelidik cuba melahirkan satu rangkaian pemikiran ilmiah yang saling berkaitan. Penyelidikan ini berdasarkan kajian-kajian lepas yang telah digunakan untuk menguatkan permasalahan dalam kajian.

Merujuk kepada persoalan yang dihadapi dalam kalangan pensyarah di Universiti Kota Batam dalam menghadapi cabaran dalam pembangunan pendidikan khususnya di Kota Batam, penyelidik tidak memberi tumpuan kepada bidang pendidikan sahaja, namun telah merangkumi pelbagai bidang seperti bidang industri. Dalam kalangan pensyarah Universiti di Kota Batam, program dan kurikulum pengajaran yang sedia ada disesuaikan dengan tuntutan dunia industri dan hal ini juga menjadi tumpuan dalam kajian ini. Pelbagai program pendidikan, kurikulum dan pelatihan dijalankan untuk meningkatkan kualiti sumber manusia yang sedia ada di Universiti. Universiti yang terdapat di Kota Batam diharapkan mampu bersaing dan menjawab cabaran pada masa hadapan yang selaras dengan tuntutan daripada industri yang terdapat di Kota Batam iaitu pelbagai syarikat yang sedia ada di Kota Batam. Persaingan antara Universiti yang terdapat di Kota Batam juga semakin kompetitif iaitu dengan munculnya beberapa Universiti baharu di Kota Batam.

Hal ini menjadikan pembangunan sumber manusia perlu dilihat sebagai bahagian daripada keperluan masyarakat dan bukan sahaja kepentingan negara. Pensyarah Universiti diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kualiti dan berdikari dalam menyelesaikan masalah dan cabaran yang dihadapi terutama yang berkaitan dengan
