1.8.3 Prestasi Akademik Sekolah
Prestasi akademik sekolah merujuk kepada keputusan pelajar dalam peperiksaan yang diselaraskan (Masters, 2012; Clark, Martorell dan Rockof, 2009).Peperiksaan yang diselaraskan bermaksud peperiksaan yang ditadbir dan mengikut pemarkahan yang

seragam.Lazimnya, peperiksaan ini disediakan untuk seluruh negara untuk mendapatkan maklumat yang tepat dan bermakna terhadap pencapaian pelajar mengikut umur, tingkatan atau tahap. Dalam kajian ini prestasi akademik sekolah merujuk kepada Gred Purata Sekolah (GPS) dalam peperiksaan awam iaitu SPM dari tahun 2011 hingga 2012.
1.9 Rumusan
Bab ini telah membincangkan secara terperinci mengenai latar belakang kajian dan penyataan masalah yang menggambarkan secara keseluruhan aspek-aspek berkaitan dengan topik yang dikaji iaitu kepemimpinan pengajaran pengetua, kepemimpinan guru dan prestasi akademik sekolah. Selain itu, objektif kajian, soalan kajian, kepentingan kajian, batasan kajian dan definisi operasional dalam kajian ini juga telah diperincikan.
