In recent years, issues regarding the development of lesson plans in learner-centered English teaching have garnered much attention in the educational context. There has been a lot of research on teaching English.
Before doing this study, the researcher provided various past studies to support the current research and to avoid duplication or the same analysis, the clusters are: Teaching and Learning in the Twenty-First Century: Fatimatul Rizkiyah, 2020, The developing of lesson: Hasan Baharu and Syafiqiyah Adhimiy, 2018; Maysusi Siaahan, 2019; Ratnawati, 2017 Teacher preparation for making lesson plan (Sabilah, Abidasari, & H., 2021) Component that must exist in lesson plan (Sela Cintiya, 2019) Teacher difficulties in making Lesson plan (Palobo & Sianturi, 2018) Teaching and learning (Hudri and Naim, 2017; Isola Rajagopalan, 2019) About Reading skills (Fitri Novia and Ratna Nery, 2019)
Fatimatul Rizkiyah (2020) conducted a study entitled "The Implementation of 4C Skills of Reading in English Lesson Plan in the Classroom" which focused on implementing 4C skills in lesson plans in education in the 21st century. This research analyzes the implementation of 4C skills in the learning process of reading in class because it is really essential for educators to apply 4C abilities in the teaching and learning process in the classroom, particularly in this twenty - first - century period, by collecting data using documentary, observation, and interviews. The findings of the study based on observations and interviews revealed that (1) in the implementation of 4C skills in learning to read in the classroom, namely communication, collaboration, creative, and critical thinking, every educator participated in the teaching and learning process, and (3) all 4C skill criteria can be utilized by three teachers. A, B, C each teacher only one who gets the category "very good" and the other two are "good" then the problems faced by teachers are problems that are shared by teachers, difficulties in creating lesson plans in accordance with the 2013 curriculum standards which include
4C skills so that it is not optimal in making strategies in teaching, Therefore, the suggestions in the study lead teachers to learn more in making or developing lesson plans in order to determine the right strategy in teaching English in order to achieve learning goals in the 21st century.
Another research conducted by Hasan Baharun (2018) with the title
"Curriculum Development through Creative Lesson Plan". This research focuses on curriculum development through Creative Lesson Plans. This research provides an overview of educational goals with the hope that education can be carried out more directed so that it can be effective and efficient using creative lesson plans because by using the existing syllabus and lesson plans without any development, the learning process will forever not succeed in increasing student learning motivation, especially in this modern era millennials who demand omniscient and creative teachers in presenting material. The existence of a creative lesson plan is the answer for teachers and even schools in the 21st century, according to the realm of research that is being made. One way to implement curriculum development is to use creative lesson plans. The purpose of this research is to provide a study that shows how important it is to develop lesson plans for the learning process that teachers should know.
Then the research conducted by Maysusi Siaahan (2019) with title
"Developing English Lesson Plan of Writing Recount Text Based on Scientific Approach For Vocation High School Computer Network ngineering Program” This research focuses on developing lesson plans according to the realm of research that is being made so that it can be used as a reference in order to have an overview in the field using a six-phase research and development approach using data collecting tools such as observations, documents, and interviews. Two lesson plans were created using a scientific approach to the 2013 curriculum and two separate learning models.Researchers found problems from the information and data collected which means it is very important develop a lesson plan, because with it researchers can adjust the character of students at school
Furthermore, by Ratnawati (2017) “Developing a lesson plan for teaching English for specific purposes adults learners at a private university "
the focus of this study was the development of lesson plans, because observations revealed that the lesson plans were not in compliance with the teaching and learning process As a result, kids do not achieve strong learning abilities. Given these circumstances, the designed lesson plan is required to solve the challenges listed above. The research-based design phases are carried out using an interview as the tool. The findings of this study reveal that the generated lesson plans are more appealing, relevant, and instructive than the prior lesson plans. And, as a teacher, you must recognize that lesson plans are critical to the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process.
The fifth study by Fardini Sabilah, Erlyna Abidasari and H.
Husamah (2021) with the title "Teacher professional education coaching to produce high quality lesson plans" which focuses on training in making lesson plans centered on students. The findings indicate that instructors are already familiar with the basic procedure and content requirements of the lesson plans; nevertheless, some components are still not written appropriately in their execution. In addition, there are also some parts of the contents of the lesson plans that do not match each other. Therefore, in this study, it is highly expected that school principals must supervise teacher performance to ensure that teachers do not experience difficulties in preparing lesson plan it is recommended that teachers enhance their lesson plans with 4C skills and employ new teaching strategies to supplement the deficiencies.
Another study from Sela Cintiya (2019) entitled "analysis of the process of preparing lesson plans (RPP) curriculum 2013 (revised edition) for class XII fiqh subjects at MAN I Blitar", can achieve the goals that have been applied that are student-centered. The results of the steps for preparing the lesson plan (attached) then in general the lesson plan follows to the concepts that integrate the key components, namely literacy tasks and 21st century abilities and HOTS-based assessments that are repeated in core activities in steps, the obstacles are the distribution of books that are not timely, the
format of the lesson plans changes, the difficulty of determining the allocation of time and it takes a long time to prepare HOTS-based question instruments, that's why knowledge is very important for a teacher in making lesson plans because the key to education is a teacher .
Next research by Muhammad Hudri and Jannatun Naim (2017) with the research title "An Analysis of Teachers Strategies in Teaching Reading at the First Years Student of SMK 2 Gerung in Academic Year 2016/2017" the focus of this research is the teacher's strategy in teaching. The results indicate that the teacher at SMK 2 Gerung West Lombok employed three ways to teach reading. The first technique was the "memorization" strategy, in which pupils were required to learn five vocabulary at each meeting. The second approach is "Relational Questions and Answers," which the instructor use to determine whether or not learners comprehend. "Game" is the third strategy.
Teachers use this method to inspire students when teaching reading. It teaches reading comprehension since it helps students grasp the content. In summary, this strategy makes a good participation for teachers to make it easier for teachers to provide student material, and it can be a guide for researchers and teachers who want to know teaching strategies, particularly in reading skills, because strategies are important to use in the teaching process to help students and teachers achieve educational objectives.
Another study is about what teachers need to know, by Markus Pabolo, Murni Sianturi, Inggrid Markisa, Ratna Purwanti, Oswandus dadi and Andi Sapparudin Nur (2018) entitled “Analysis of Teachers' Difficulties on Developing Curriculum 2013 Lesson Plans” It focuses on the challenges instructors face while designing lesson plans. The findings revealed that teachers struggled to create learning tools based on the 2013 curriculum, which included: (1) developing indicators of competency achievement, (2) developing schemes to achieve basic competencies, (3) developing perception activities, (4) developing core activities, (5) designing activities to draw conclusions, and (6) formulating assessments. This is why, in this scenario, instructors still require training in designing the 2013 curriculum, particularly
in lesson plan preparation.
Furthermore, the research conducted by Fitri Novia and Ratna Nery (2019) regarding the teaching of recount text entitled "Teaching Reading Recount Text by Using Thieves Strategy".
