kehidupan baru para patriot dimulai. Keluar dari zona nyaman adalah sebuah keniscayaan dalam program ini. Lokasi penempatan yang sulit dijangkau, minimnya jaringan telekomunikasi,
terbatasnya air bersih, dan segala hal baru menjadi awal adaptasi yang harus dilalui. Masing-masing lokasi penempatan mempunyai permasalahan yang berbeda- beda. Namun, secara garis besar permasalahan tersebut mencakup bidang ekonomi, sosial, pendidikan, dan sanitasi. Berbagai permasalahan publik tersebut siap dihadapi dan dicari solusinya oleh para patriot dengan
bergotong royong bersama masyarakat.
Program patriot energi bukanlah sebuah jalan untuk menjadi pahlawan, justru sebaliknya menjadi patriot energi harus banyak belajar dari masyarakat untuk bisa membangkitkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap potensi dan permasalahan yang ada. Pahlawan-pahlawan masyarakat harus muncul di dalam masyarakat itu sendiri. Patriot Energi hanya berusaha menggunakan kacamata sistematis untuk memetakan masalah, dan tetap memakai sepatu rakyat untuk hidup berdampingan bersama masyarakat.

he Nation Energy Activator (PETA) Patriot Energy is a movement that sends the best graduates to visit remote, rural and outermost areas of the country to live with the local residents. They are assigned as facilitators, to make aware and develop community by constructing and utilizing sustainable renewable power plants.The vision of PETA movement is to increase community capital through implementation of renewable energy based on equitable community, with young patriots to realize national energy independency. Meanwhile, its mission is to implement based- community renewable energy, by making use local energy sources to increase the community capital.
To implement this program, there are some strategies to do, including, making use of local energy source to generate electricity from renewable energy, to create and manage community-based power plant management system and to implement and organize energy utilization system that encourage productive economic activities. Then, the program gathers indonesian youths who are willing to serve public and creating and forming indonesian young patriots who are able to improve sustainable public welfare to create its own energy to achieve national energy independence.
The patriots who are assigned in several areas act as external activators to mobilize public figures in a community, so that the community is able to be independence to managing their electricity need.

THE NEEds foR ComPETENCE At its implementation level, before they are assigned to remote, rural and outermost areas that do not have electricity access, the energy patriots will experience a series of trainings. The training will be conducted in four key competences, those four competences to possess are: struggling, technical, social development and last but not least, the most important one, sincerity.
First, the spirit to struggle competence is a physical training. in this training, the Ministry of EMR joined cooperation with the Wanadri, Outdoor organization, to provide the necessary training and to teach the patriots directly to survive for 6 days in the jungle. Under the limitation, the patriots shall be able to survive and keep moving. This physical training is very useful during field assignments since the assignment location is hard to reach thus requiring strong physical performance.
second, technical competence is in the form of detailed knowledge on solar cell or solar Power Plant
(PLTs). in addition, it is also provided the knowledge on
a variety of renewable energy source
along with the
technology to make use of them. it is expected that the patriots are able to identify renewable energy sources on their assignment site, which hopefully will be able to develop into energy.
The Third competence is community-based development, which teaches us how to mobilize the community to view and identify the root cause of an issue and to solve it. Eventually, the competence having largest portion is sincerity, which teaches how to build empathy by synergizing heart and mind. This competence is the spirit of the program, as anything found and felt by the patriots, the sincerity will be the solution basis.
Not long after the PETA establishment in the mid of 2015 by the Ministry of EMR, then on October 21, 2015 the first energy patriots are sent to their respective sites across the country. The assignment sites are divided into 3 zones: west, central and eastern zones of indonesia.
With high spirit and the experience during the training, the patriots began their new life. Out of the comfort zone is an obligation in this program. difficulty to access assignment site, the lack of
telecommunication network, limitation of clean water and all new things small are the initial adaptation to pass. Each assignment location has difference issues. However, principally, the issues are within the scopes of economy, social, education and sanitation. such public issues must be faced and solved by the patriots with cooperation with community. The energy patriot program is not a way to become heroes, on the contrary, being energy patriots shall mean learn much from community in order to increase their awareness on existing issues and potentials. The community heroes shall come from the society itself. Energy Patriots shall only try to use their systematical point of view to map the issues and adapt community life to live with the community.
Be an energy patriot is an opportunity; an opportunity to directly see, hear and live the life of those who live under limitations. Joining PETA movement is an opportunity to raise and open eyes that there are still many things to do to realize welfare for indonesia, especially to fulfill the needs for new and renewable energy.
