Based on the conclusion above, the researcher would like to propose some suggestions. For undergraduate EFL learners, after knowing the challenges of doing online supervision from the results of this research, they should be more aware of
71
their challenges and apply strategies to overcome them. Furthermore, undergraduate EFL learners should be able to manage time and always make progress on their thesis. They should try and maintain to build a supervisory relationship in order to avoid challenges when doing online supervision with their supervisor.
Another suggestion is for supervisors. The supervisors are expected to be able to provide feedback and give immediate response during the online supervision process, particularly for online supervision that uses WhatsApp. Another important thing is that the supervisors are expected to give appreciation and motivation more often for what the students have done. Students who get appreciation and motivation given by their supervisors tend to be more enthusiastic in developing their thesis and feel comfortable when doing online supervision with their supervisors.
The last suggestion is for the future researcher. This research can be used as a reference for other researchers who are interested in conducting research on the same topic. The researcher suggests that future researchers may use quantitative methods with more respondents, allowing the findings to be generalized. Since the participants in this research are students, future researchers might be able to add samples from lecturers or supervisors as participants. So, the results become more complete from the two perceptions, namely students and supervisors.

SAMPLE OF AUDIO DIARIES TRANSCRIPT Week 6
L: Few days ago, my supervisor chat me on WhatsApp. She asked me about how was it the data collection? How many the responses so far? And I tried to give informative data. I look at the Google Form and I saw that there was 66 responses so far and I told my supervisor that I will come to the class, to the my junior class. There are fifth and third semester. So, I will come to their class to ask them maybe to answer the questionnaire. Yeah I try to tell my lecturer and then my juniors, they will study on 22nd August I guess. So, I’ll come to their class then yeah my supervisor told me that yeah she gave me the information when the students of fifth and third semester start study. I told my lecturer and yeah I will coordinate it ma’am and thank you for your information. Yeah I think that’s all for the information. It’s really short conversation on this WhatsApp. I hope I can come to my junior classes to collect the data.
Week 7
L: Today I chat my first supervisor. I ask her about I mean after I installed the SPSS application, what should I do? I ask her about that and I want to make sure, that is about the two points types and levels of anxiety, are they the thing that I really look for the answer. Is that the research question? And then I want to make sure about these two kinds of problems so I ask my supervisor about that. I showed her a photo of my analysis with SPSS application. My supervisor said that yeah it is descriptive statistic and she told me that I will use T test to know the differences between across gender of this kind of anxiety. Then, I will also test the hypothesis and also yeah my supervisor told me that you can continue the activity and you can also read the statistic books and also I can watch the YouTube tutorial and yeah my supervisor told me that if I were in Jambi we will meet because in this message I assumed that she wasn’t here for few days ago. And then I replied yes ma’am that’s fine, I will try to look for this research question and how to do the analysis and how to conduct the analysis the data. I also I thanked her and also I ask one question again. Is that mean that I need to score all of the data in each sample? My supervisor told me that was yes, just you can do it now what you can do. We will talk about this later because when we discuss through WhatsApp application not really effective. So yeah we end the conversation.
