2014 moderation meetings for Authority-registered subjects
Purpose
To inform schools about the schedule for the 2014 moderation meetings for Authority-registered subjects.
Background
To ensure consistency of teacher judgments in Authority-registered subjects, quality-assurance processes include not only study plan approval and moderation meetings for each study area specification, but also internal and external reviews.

Information
Moderation meetings for the following subjects will be held in May 2014 (see attached schedule for proposed dates):
• Agriculture and Horticulture (2004)
• Creative Arts (2004)
• Information and Communications Technology (2004)
• Prevocational Mathematics (2004)
• Recreation (2004)
• Religion and Ethics (2004).
Venue details and meeting times will be confirmed early in 2014.
Moderation meetings will be scheduled for three hours. Remote schools and subjects with small cohorts in some districts will be offered the opportunity to participate in online moderation meetings. Information about the online moderation meetings will be provided early in 2014.
Travel costs for one teacher of each Study Area Specification (SAS) to attend the relevant moderation meetings will be met by the QSA. The QSA is not funded to provide Teacher Relief Scheme (TRS) for attending these meetings.

What you need to do
Arrange for one teacher for each SAS subject offered by the school to attend the relevant meeting, or participate online, as indicated on the attached schedule. This teacher should be the teacher of the current Year 12 cohort.
