2017 Gladstone Region Youth Council Nomination Form

Application Information:

To be eligible for membership in Gladstone Region Youth Council and applicant must be:

1. Aged 15-24yrs.

2. Residing in the Gladstone Region.

3. Nominations will be accepted as follows: self-nomination, and or be nominated by community members or peers.

Role and objective of the Gladstone Region Youth Council:

1. To provide young people with the opportunity to actively participate in the Local Government planning processes.

2. To act as an advisory committee and provide a youth perspective to Council in a structured and formal way in future planning decisions.

Terms of Office

1. Youth Council membership will be for one year (February - December) and with regular attendance at meetings required.

2. Meetings are held the 1 and 3 Monday of each month, unless a public holiday no meeting is held.

3. Youth Council current appointed members will be able to seek re-appointment for subsequent terms.

Training

1. Leadership Development/Mentoring will also be provided and this may come from Business /Industry Sector representatives

2. Any other training identified by Youth Council members or staff.
