This Act may be cited as''
The Friendly Societies Amendment short title andAct, 1894," and shall be incorporated and read as one with
"
The Friendly Societies Amendment Act, 1892," hereinafter referred to as the said Act.2, The word Registrar " or CRegistar-General" in the said "Registrar" or

Sub-section (1) of section 8 of the said Act is hereby repealed, ~mendment of ~ U Land the followin g section substituted in lieu thereof :- section (1) of aeotion 8 of Act 668 of 1892.
(1) Every Society shall, once at least in every five years next QuiwpemW after thc commencement of this Act or after the incorporation or valuatlons.
establishment of the Society or branch, and once at least in every succeeding five years, cause its assets and liabilities to be valued by the Actuary or a valuer appointed by the Society and approved of by the Chief Secretary ; and such Actuary or valuer shall send to the Chief Secretary a report on the condition of the Society, and an abstract to be made by him of the results of his valuation, together with a return containing such information with respect to the

benefits assured and contributions receivable by the Society, and of its funds and effects, debts and credits, as the Chief Secretary may from time to time require, and every Society shall a t the same time forward to the Actuary a list of the namcs and occupations of all its members, together with the age of cach member at the time of the previous quarterly or half-yearly balancing of accouuts, spccifying the date thereof.

I n all societies and branches all moneys received or paid onkept of each class of
benefit. account of each and every particular fund or benefit shall be kept senarate and distinct, and shall be entered in a separate account d&tinct from the mon&s received arid paid on account of any other fund or benefit, and the moneys belonging to one fund or benefit shall not be used in any manner for the advantage or otherwise of any other fund or benefit: Provided that, in the case of any Society or branch which has not hitherto kspt such moneys separate and distinct as aforesaid, such Society or branch shall not be required to comply with the provisions of this section until after the expiration of one year from the passing of this Act.
