News and Requests from the Service Section

Congratulations and thank you to the leaders of the volunteers who continue to offer their services.

Ian Ford (once he is back on his feet) and Rob Cook continue to service the ‘In House‘ area, David Reddy and his team, Cliff Fothergill et al, Kerry Lewis and the gardeners. I am hoping that Kevin Fewster will continue his monitoring of the notice boards. Welcome to Peter and Annette taking over from Doug and Ralph.

Catering? Not sure yet but we are working on how to manage the hospitality aspect of our club. We will have a meeting of everyone who is interested and wants to pitch in with us to discuss how we can reduce the load on a few and organize something practical and realistic. So, please, spread the word and

encourage new members to come along and share the fun.

Proposed date for that meeting is Tuesday 30th JUNE at 2pm in the club rooms.

Lost Property

- Have you lost, mislaid or just forgotten an item? Please check the Lost Property Bin and take whatever is yours. On the 30th June, anything left in the bin will be discarded.

Garden Group

- Kerry and the Garden Group still need some extra hands for a couple of hours a week or a month. Pruning, weeding and all the rest of it on our estate is a big job and more hands make less work.

Please contact Kerry Lewis on 5941 2115 (leave a message if she is not there) for more information.

Sometimes just an hour a month can make a difference.

Working Bee

-The general tidy and cleanup of both grounds and club rooms planned for Tuesday 31st March was cancelled for various reasons. We will reschedule a date and let you know once it is finalized. As before, we will put a sheet on the Information Section of the Notice Boards for you to sign up for an inside or outside job, more information in the next newsletter. Thank you to those members who offered to help for the March dates, please maintain your enthusiasm! Thank you.

Cleaning

-Please, help to keep the club rooms clean and tidy throughout the winter period. Wiping down the tables after your social drink is not a huge ask and helps to maintain a healthy environment for us all.

Chairs, put back under the table improves our image and helps us when we speak to potential hirers of the building. Our running costs are high and the more we each do helps to keep the cost of cleaning down. If you have any queries about the scheduled cleaning, speak to Helen Di Stella or Peter Kirby, they have the cleaning schedule for the rest of May, June and July.

I am away until the 12th June, so meanwhile; stay warm if you are in Melbourne, safe travelling if you are off to the sunny climes or overseas, and most importantly stay fit and well ready for the next season.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Services Section, it seems we are going to do it again!
