NOTE: The Statutes and Regulations of the University are set out in full in the University Calendar, which is the official and authoritative publication of the University. We draw your attention to the following points, which are important for obtaining the matriculation qualification:—. In any case, the faculty will be convinced of the candidate's maturity.
To increase the accuracy of the University's records, each student will be required to complete a special re-enrolment slip at the end of the first term indicating the subjects he intends to study for the remainder of the year . All fees must be paid into the University's account at a branch of the National Bank of Australasia. For most of the following combined courses only a limited quota of places are available and candidates wishing to undertake a combined course should make further inquiries with the Commonwealth Scholarships Branch.
The living allowance is assessed according to the combined gross income (net profit in the case of business income) of the scholar's parents, excluding war pensions, for the previous financial year, but this income is reduced by allowances made for the dependents, other than the applicant, younger than 16 years at the end of that financial year. It will be seen that in both cases the gross income of the parents will be higher if there are other dependent children under 16 years of age. The bursaries provide for payment of university fees and for maintenance of students during the term of the bursaries.
Applications must be accompanied by evidence of the student's ability and full details of his financial situation.
