Candidates for the above examinations are requested to enter before the end of the Second Seminar. The Department of Social Studies is located in the northern section of the University grounds, to the east of the Department of Zoology. A branch of the bank will be located at the northern end of the building in which the Registration Office is located.

REGULATIONS

Candidates for the Diploma of Social Studies shall matriculate and be admitted to the course and shall thereafter pursue their studies

Candidates for the Diploma of Social Studies must matriculate and be admitted to the course and must thereafter continue their studies and be admitted to the course and must thereafter continue their studies for at least three years, pass the examinations in the prescribed subjects and the prescribed field and other practical work to the satisfaction of the Council for Social Studies. The courses and the subjects of the different years of each course will be as detailed in the appropriate column of the following table. All the subjects of any year shall be completed before taking any subject of the next succeeding year, except that the Board may permit a candidate to take one approved subject of the previous year simultaneously with subjects of the following year. Field and other practical work will be carried out in each of the years as the Council prescribes in the details of subjects. The Council may exempt any candidate from any of the subjects of the course on the basis of other subjects of equivalent scope and from the course on account of other subjects of equivalent scope and standard passed in examinations of the University.

No candidate attending the Bachelor of Social Science program may enroll in the subject or subjects of any other course except with the approval of the Board. With the approval of the Board, candidates may be admitted to the examination in any subject for the Bachelor of Arts, the examination in any subject for the Honors Degree in Arts or the Bachelor of Commerce and may, subject to the conditions prescribed in the regulations relating to the relevant degree, be placed to the class list and compete on it for the exhibition. In the case of a graduate of any faculty, the Commission may reduce the period during which he is required to pursue his studies beyond the period during which he is required to pursue his studies after enrolling in the course, and may exempt him from the field work prescribed for the first year of the course, provided that his degree does not will be awarded until, after completing the field work prescribed for the second and third years of the course, he has completed such additional work as may be satisfactory to the Board of Directors. This shows the course in detail and contains references to further reading, both general and on specific topics. A charge of 5/- for these notes made, and is payable with the first semester's lecture fees.

INDUSTRIAL AD1INISТRAТIІN

Students are reminded that written work will be taken into account when assessing performance in the annual examination. The problem of industrial relations, proposals for its solution, and the methods adopted by some of the principal countries for realizing industrial peace; the principles and practice of industrial regulation; the evolution of wage control and the different forms of that control; the evolution of the. Australian arbitral awards and the changing basis of their determination; wartime changes in the practice of industrial control; works councils and joint production committees; the principle and practice of incentive payments; the International Labor Organization; factory and shop legislation; apprenticeship legislation; legislation covering workers' compensation.

Other relevant legislation; relevant regulations and awards§ ; journal articles according to the lecturer.

MENTAL HEALTH

Prenatal, early childhood, development of conscious control of bodily functions --- motion touch, bowel and bladder, speech. Discussion of cases showing varieties of problem behavior, with particular reference to their situation in the family, at school. Classification and description of mental disorders including manic-depressive psychosis, schizophrenia, paraphrenia and paranoia, the organic reactions, alcoholism and other addictions, mental defects, the psychoneuroses, psychopathic states.

Clinical investigation and treatment methods with special reference to the role of the social worker. The test in this subject will consist of essay work and presentation of case material for discussion.

PERSONNEL PRACTICE

Joint consultation - mechanism of joint consultation - works councils, joint production committees, etc., schemes of proposals. Each student must work in HR three full days a week during the first, second, and third semesters and for three continuous months after the final exam or equivalent period. Experience will be gained in HR work in factories, retail stores, public hospitals, government offices, etc.

The test in this subject will consist of essay work and the achievement of such competence in practical work as may be prescribed.

Honorary candidates will be required to demonstrate broader and more detailed knowledge than Pass candidates in both lab notebooks and exam papers. with them, with the process of embedding policy in law and administration, and with the effects of that process on individual members of the community. A course of lectures and discussion lessons during the second year. a) the legal relationship and community; receipt of English law; common law, statute, precedent; general principles of law; structure of government; the courts; relationship of law with the problems of social work through the study of law relating to marriage, divorce, abandonment, protection of children, property, crime prevention, nationality and naturalization.

A study of legislation relating to health, housing, education and social security, including comparison with provisions made in several other countries.

A course of lectures and discussion classes throughout the year. i) the meaning, objectives and scope of social work; social work as preventive and corrective. Work in cases other than other forms of social work; report of specialized fields. Case work process; social history; registration; interview techniques and the simple case study. ii) Community resources and their use. iii) Theory and practice of group work.

Specific values ​​of group work f.c; situational therapy, leadership qualities and function, the "enabling environment" of youth club work. The examination in this subject shall consist of essay work, case presentation, and the attainment of such standard of competence in practical work as may be determined. SOCIAL WORK PART III

During the continuous period, students can work in the field in which they want to specialize. Contributions of mental hygiene, psychiatry and psychoanalysis in the field of family case work. Each student is required to work in the field for three full days per week during the first, second and third semesters and for three continuous months after the final exam or equivalent period.

Experience is gained in advanced family casework in a variety of settings, eg, voluntary family welfare agencies, government departments, psychiatric clinics and children's institutions. A course of lectures, discussion classes and fieldwork throughout the year. i) Group work as a method of informal education. Class discussions on issues arising from fieldwork; situational problems, personality factors, details of club finances and management, committee procedure, club constitution, etc. ii) Modern problems in education.

Each student must work in the field three full days per week during the first, second and third semesters and for three uninterrupted months after the final exam or equivalent period. A course of lectures, discussion lessons and fieldwork throughout the year. i) The application of the principles of social work in the medical field; advanced case studies; the organization and administration of social services within hospitals and hospital clinics. COMBINED COURSES ARTS AND SGCIAL STUDIES

Experience is gained in general wards and clinics in general and specialist hospitals and in other medical institutions. 3rd year Social Organization A Mental Health Social Work II. as 3rd part of 2nd major) Social history or ethics (as 2nd part of minor). Each year as for family casework, except that in the fourth year Social Work III becomes Medical Social Work.
