CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

To be read in conjunction with the Entry Form and retained by the entrant.

Entry Form

competitor numbers will be limited to the first 200 entries

 entries close on 30 April 2013

 entries must be accompanied by the Unaccompanied Archer Consent Form (if applicable)

 entries must include payment details in order to be accepted. See ‘Payment’ below for special arrangements for overseas entries

 date of birth is required to be completed by all competitors. See ‘Age Categories’ below

Media Consent and Parent / Guardian Consent Forms

 entries must be accompanied by the Photographic/Media Consent Form

 junior competitors who will not be accompanied by a parent/guardian must complete the Parent/Guardian Consent Form and either -

 give it to their Team Manager

 or to the Organising Committee with their entry form

Age Categories

CUB – anyone born in the year 2000 and since

INTERMEDIATE – anyone born in the years 1998 and 1999 CADET – anyone born in the years 1996 and 1997

20 AND UNDER – anyone born in the years 1993, 1994 and 1995

Payment

 payment may be made by cheque or direct deposit for postal entries. Credit cards may only be used if submitting an entry online via the 2013 NYAC website

 total entry fees, including presentation evening payment must accompany the entry form, unless special arrangements are made with the Organising Committee

 all fees are listed in Australian Dollars and are to be paid in Australian Dollars. As an alternative to arranging bank drafts/international payments, payment (in full and in cash) will be accepted at registration for overseas entrants only

Late Entries

 competitor numbers will be limited to the first 200 entries

 late entries will only be accepted up to 31 May 2013 by and at the discretion of the Organising Committee and are subject to the availability of shooting positions

 a late entry fee of 50% is applicable

No entries will be accepted after 31 May 2013.

Refunds

 entries withdrawn by COB 31 May 2013 will be refunded, less 20% of the fees paid

 entries withdrawn after COB 31 May 2013 will not be refunded except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Organising Committee

APPEALS

A $50 Appeal fee applies to each appeal and is required to be paid by cash or cheque on the lodgement of the appeal. If the appeal is successful, the fee will be refunded. If the appeal is unsuccessful, the fee will be retained by the Organising Committee or refunded at its discretion.

MEDALS

Medals will be awarded in accordance with the Archery Australia Rule (7.12.7) These will be awarded and presented at the venues on completion of each event with the exception of Clout and Matchplay medals that will be presented at the presentation evening and dinner.

Archer’s who achieve a medal placing but are ineligible for a medal under Archery Australia rule 7.12.7 will be called to the dais and presented with a visitor’s medal.

If medals have to be forwarded after the event, any costs incurred will be at the competitor’s expense, except as approved by the Organising Committee.

RULES

All events will be conducted to World Archery and Archery Australia Rules, as appropriate.

DRESS REGULATIONS

In order to present the best possible image for our sport, to our sponsors and to the general public, the Organising Committee will be enforcing Archery Australia Rules (7.10) with respect to athletes’ dress. The Organising Committee reserves the right to direct competitors wearing clothing with camouflage patterning or offensive slogans to change.

Although the tournament will be held in the middle of a beautiful Queensland winter, remember that the sun will still be a consideration. Hats and sunscreen are strongly recommended.

RESULTS

The results will be published on the Archery Australia website and the website advertising this event. Those looking for results should be aware that because of the location of the events, publication of daily results on the website may take up to 24 hours.

PRACTICE

Competitors wishing to practice on days prior to Official Practice need to make arrangements with Clubs to shoot at their grounds. Location and contact details for local clubs can be found on the Archery Australia and South Queensland Archery Society websites. See ‘Registration and Official Practice’ below for practice arrangements on registration day.

A number of butts will be available for warming-up in the indoor shooting hall at Mount Petrie Bowmen each morning before the commencement of competition. Access to the field course for practice will not be permitted.

The programme may be changed following close of entries depending on the number of entries received.

Interim programme structures are below. Final arrangements will be included in the registration packs.

Target, Matchplay and Field will be shot at Mount Petrie Bowmen, Belmont.

Clout will be shot at Samford Valley Target Archers, Samford

REGISTRATION AND OFFICIAL PRACTICE

Registration will open at 9.00am at the Mount Petrie Bowmen grounds. Registration packs will include daily running sheets, information on catering arrangements and pre-purchased merchandise.

Official practice will be available after archers have registered, until 12.00. Access to targets during official practice may need to be managed depending on the number of archers wanting to practice at any one time.

Registration and official practice will be followed by the Opening Ceremony.

OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony will take place at 1.00pm and will be preceded by a pay-as-you-go BBQ lunch. The cost of the lunch is included in competitors’ tournament fees. Competitors’ guests will pay on the day.

PRESENTATION EVENING AND DINNER

The presentation evening and dinner will be held at the Queensland Rifle Association function area close to the Mount Petrie Bowmen grounds, commencing at 7.00pm on Saturday 6th July. The function will be a sit down smorgasbord with cash bar. Payment must be included with the competitor’s entry payment. Further details will be included in the registration packs.

BRISBANE WEATHER

Winter in Brisbane is mild and very pleasant. Most winter days are sunny with average temperatures of around 15oC. Layered clothing is sensible as mornings can be chilly. Sunsafe precautions are highly recommended as sunburn and heatstroke can occur, even in winter.

TOURNAMENT VENUES

There is plenty of parking at both venues. Please obey parking signs and directions of tournament officials.

Travel by car to both the Mount Petrie Bowmen and Samford Valley Target Archers clubs is the most practicable form of transport.

Mount Petrie Bowmen (MPB), Belmont

Mount Petrie Bowmen will celebrate its half century in 2014. Its facilities include a 100m square target range with permanent clout pad and a new 30 x 30m indoor hall. The SQAS field course adjoins the Club grounds.

Previously, the club has hosted the senior National Championships in 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2011, and the National Junior Championships in 2006. At December 2012, MPB had approximately 180 members of which some 35% were juniors.

Samford Valley Target Archers, Samford

Samford Valley Target Archers (previously Grange Company of Target Archers) launched in 1947.

The Club operates a target range and a 30m x 30m indoor facility in the beautiful semi-rural Samford Valley.

At December 2012, SVTA had approximately 160 members of which some 35% were juniors.

ACCOMMODATION

It is the competitor’s responsibility to arrange and pay for accommodation. There will be no onsite camping available at either venue.

The Queensland Rifle Association whose complex is adjacent to Mount Petrie Bowmen has a variety of accommodation available, from motel units to bunk rooms and camping sites on the Belmont Range that are available to competitors attending activities on the complex. The Sleeman Sports Complex is a short drive from Mount Petrie Bowmen and offers lodge and cabin accommodation designed to meet the accommodation and budget needs of sporting groups. Further details can be found on their website http://www.sleemansports.com.au/

CATERING

At Mount Petrie Bowmen

A BBQ lunch will be available at MPB on competition days, other than on the day clout is shot. Ordering arrangements will be included in the registration pack. Snack food, drinks, tea and coffee, etc, will be available during competition.

There are a number of take-away outlets about two minutes’ drive away from the Mount Petrie Bowmen range. Exit left on to Old Cleveland Road and drive towards the city for about 2 kilometres to the Scrub Road/Old Cleveland Road intersection.

At Samford Valley Target Archers

A ‘pay-as-you-go’ BBQ will be provided by the SVTA Club on the day of the clout shoot. Drinks and light snacks will be available from the Club canteen. A number of food outlets are close by in Samford Village.

MERCHANDISE

Tournament shirts, bucket hats, caps, and beanies may be ordered and paid for in advance. See the order form at page 11 for ordering and payment arrangements. Pre-ordered merchandise will be available at registration. Orders received after 31 May 2013 cannot be guaranteed for delivery with registration packs.

Shirts will not be available for purchase during the tournament. Orders will be taken during the tournament and posted later at an additional cost. A limited number of hats will be available for purchase during the tournament.

Competitors should be aware that travel time from the general vicinity of Mount Petrie Bowmen to Samford, taking into account possible peak hour constraints, could take over an hour. The map below is provided as an indication. Instructions on travelling from Brisbane City to Samford at page 10. Further instructions will be included in the information pack.
