BSB07 Business Services Training Package, version 7
Purpose
To tell schools about recent changes to the BSB07 Business Services Training Package and registration requirements for new Business qualifications following endorsement of version 7 of the Training Package. The changes only affect stand-alone delivery of the qualifications.
Background
Version 7 of BSB07 Business Services Training Package was endorsed by the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC) on 5 December 2012 and was officially released on 18 December 2012.
Many Business qualifications have now been replaced with new qualifications.

The BSB07 Training Package can be obtained from the Training.gov.au (TGA) website at
http://training.gov.au/Training/Details/BSB07. Information about the mapping of units of competency and qualifications is also in the Training Package.
Information
Schools with current Business qualifications on their scope of registration and those interested in adding Business qualifications should download the relevant parts of the BSB07 Training Package.
The four new qualifications listed in the table above are deemed equivalent to the superseded qualifications.
The main change for all these qualifications is that the OHS core unit has been replaced. School RTOs should have no difficulty transitioning to the new qualifications once they are registered.
School RTOs must also be familiar with the Australian Skills Quality Authority “General direction:
Transition and teach-out” at www.asqa.gov.au/about-asqa/general-directions.html. The impact for RTOs is that:
• no school can seek registration for the superseded qualifications after 18 December 2012
• RTOs must transition to the new qualifications before 17 December 2013
• RTOs may teach out the superseded qualifications up to 17 June 2014.

What you need to do
Registration
All school RTOs need to register prior to offering or delivering the BSB07 qualifications.
School RTOs currently registered for the superseded Business qualification/s
School RTOs must complete and send an Application to change scope of registration form available at www.qsa.qld.edu.au/12264.html. This needs to done ASAP as:
• no new students can be enrolled in the superseded qualifications (BSB10107, BSB20107, BSB30110, BSB30407) after 17 December 2013
• school RTOs cannot deliver these superseded qualifications after 17 June 2014.
Once a school RTO is registered for a new qualification, students may be transitioned from the superseded qualification. This is essential for students who will not be expected to complete the superseded qualification before 17 June 2014, e.g. current Year 11 students enrolled in BSB20107, BSB30110 or BSB30407.
School RTOs not currently registered for the superseded business qualification/s
School RTOs must complete and send an Application to change scope of registration form available at www.qsa.qld.edu.au/12264.html. You will be required to attach evidence to your application and it is advisable to read the Application to change RTO scope of registration — evidence guidelines, which is also available at www.qsa.qld.edu.au/12264.html.
