At the Annual General Meeting it was announced that Joy Bratt has been made a Life Membership, for her services to Buckingham Bowls Club. A special committee looked at her roles at Buckingham and noted that she has had 40 years of dedicated service to the Club.Joy served as Women’sVice President 1986-89; Women’s President 1990-92; heavily involved in women’s committee for 10 years; Provedore for 2 years; 3 years as women’s selector;
countless years as team captain; and….Oldest playing women’s pennant member. Well Done Joy
From the board meeting: President Alan (Ike) Smith attended a meeting of
stakeholders of the New Town Precinct recently. He joined in discussions regarding parking and New Town Road traffic management.
Ideas for Sponsorship. The long traditions and history of this club would make Bucks an attractive proposition to advertise organisations. The board would welcome ideas from members about contacts they know that would be interested.
Selectors are needed for pennant 2016-17, and chair of selectors for men’s and women’s teams. A three hour in-house course will be held at Bucks at time convenient for those involved. Those standing as selectors are
encouraged to attend, as this will give selectors an appreciation of the role, and help the club to achieve even more successes this coming season. The board has some nominations but some divisions still are without selectors.
Approach the board for further information. Buckingham is paying for this course, to make us the premier southern club!!!!
We still lack a Grounds Co-ordinator.This role involves being observant, and noting any tasks that need to be done.Then a team of volunteers will be formed to attend those tasks, whether it be cutting back shrubs, fixing benches or other straightforward tasks to maintain the appearance of the club surrounds.
One could call it “an Outside Housekeeper”

A committee has been formed to design a club top for all pennant players. The committee is working on this shirt, which will be mandatory for pennant play from the beginning of pennant season2019/2020.A special meting will be held in October with more information.
Large numbers from many clubs as well as Bucks are coming for Tuesdays and Thursdays Social Bowls and having lots of good plays, friendly rivalry and good soup as well! Well done all. :.
Saturday Winter Pennant is well, competition is hotting up, and ladder positions are changing each week. A very keen bunch of players, who are enjoying this winter game. Vitamin D in abundance as well !!!!!
