Calendar: Special Notice
The 1988 edition was the last in the book format. Since 1989 the Calendar has been a looseleaf publication consisting of several sections (see the general table of contents). including the University's statutes.
During 1988 there was a consolidation of the University's statutes and regulations, resulting in sixteen chapters of revised statutes. The statutes contained herein are revised as needed. i.e. following the publication of each monthly Governor's Paper affecting University statutes. For further information on the statutes see the introductory note to that section of the Calendar.
While there are no longer any regulations as such, most of chapters 3. 6 and 7 of the former regulations can now be found as chapters R3 [Requirements for Degrees and Diplomas], R6 [Prizes, Exhibitions and Bursaries] and R7 [Endowments other than those for Prizes. Exhibitions and Scholarships] of the Standing Resolutions of Council, Volume 2, a looseleaf publication distinct from the Calendar. They also are revised as needed, i.e. as changes are approved by Council. This volume of standing resolutions also contains Appendix 1 [Summary of Awards available to Students] and Appendix 2 [Summary of Endowments other than those for Prizes. Exhibitions and Bursaries], formerly in the Calendar.
Non-legislation sections of the Calendar are revised regularly, but not published more than once a year.
Revised sections, and individual statutes affected by Governor's Papers, are issued to University recipients of the looseleaf Calendar A microfiche version of the Calendar is issued once a year to individuals and organizations outside the University requiring it.
