It was envisaged that Bedford Park would be an academically autonomous campus of the University of Adelaide. Towards the end of 1965, the South Australian government decided to make the University of Adelaide in Bedford Park a fully autonomous university under the name of The Flinders University of South Australia.

A copy of the signs approved by the Council shall be kept in the custody of the Secretary. Promotions of staff members are approved by the Council on the recommendation of the relevant committee. The person selected by the Presiding Panel will be the Chairman of the Disciplinary Board.
PART I
A student in the School of Humanities may submit a request to the School Board to take a combination of disciplines other than those listed in point 3. For Part II a student in the School of Mathematical Sciences must be enrolled in the Ml Program. In the School of Humanities, a student whose work throughout the year has been of creditable or distinguished standard may be excused by the School Board from all or part of the Part I examination.
PART III
A student taking Drama III may in any case be granted 138 Developing Aspects of Acting in Theatre, Television and Radio and 139 Theater Technique or 129 Film, Television and Technique. Radio as its related subject III. works. For students studying Philosophy and Mathematics as their primary subjects, the Board of the School may, notwithstanding clauses 1, 2 and 3 of the Schedule, approve any subject of courses within the University as a cognate subject in any part. For the purpose of clauses 2 and 3 of Schedule 1, the Council, on the recommendation of the Committee of the School of Social Sciences, approved the following courses for parts:.

272 State and Economic Life, if 202 Economics IIA or 252 Politics IIA or 253 Politics IIB is taken. 600 Biology I if 222 Geography IIA or 262 Psychology II is taken and both core courses are within the school. 402 Mathematics or 403 Mathematics (Intermediate) or 404 Mathematics (Service) or Mathematics II or 405 Final Mathematics or Mathematics IIS if two of 202 Economics IIA, 222 Geography IIA, and 262 Psychology II are taken.
PART III
The combination of courses within each program is approved by the Council upon the recommendation of the School of Mathematical Sciences Board (see Appendix A of Appendix 6: The Honors Degree of Bachelor of Science). PHYSICS
Entry to the Program is restricted to students who have satisfactorily completed the P5 Program and leads to the Part IV Honors Programs in Inorganic, Organic or Physical Chemistry. This Program is designed for the student who wants to specialize in Physics11l or Inorganic Chemistry. The program leads to the P49 Program in Part IV for the Bachelor of Science Honors Degree.
PART II PROGRAMMES
This program leads to Program BIO in Biology, which may include further topics in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics, or to Programs M12, M20, M21 in Applied Mathematics. This program leads to Program B50 in Part III and to Honors Studies in Biology with Psychology. In addition to these courses, students must take additional two-unit courses from the following list of options.

Material previously presented for any other degree does not constitute a substantial part of the thesis presented for the degree. There are usually two examiners appointed by the Higher Degrees Committee to examine the thesis submitted for the degree from outside the university. The candidate files with the secretary three copies of • the work submitted for the diploma.
RULES APPLICABLE TO STUDENTS ON UNIVERSITY PREMISES
The Secretary of the Union shall be the Director of Union Services or his deputy. The Treasurer of the Union shall be the Accountant of the University or his deputy. The amendment shall be approved by a two-thirds majority of the Board members;
THE STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
Subject to this Constitution, all election procedures shall be determined by Council Regulations. Payments from these funds will be authorized by the Council or the Council Executive. The special general meeting of students is called by the Secretary:. a) at the request of the Chairman of the Council;
THE SPORTS ASSOCIATION
The members of the Sports Association are ordinary, elected or associate members, or honorary members. a). Acceptance or rejection of such application shall be at the discretion of the Council. The quorum for any meeting of the Committee shall be three of the members appointed by the Council.
UNIVERSITY HALL
After completion of their respective terms of office, members of the Council will be eligible for further appointment. A member of the Council ceases to be a member:-. a) upon submitting his resignation in writing to the Dean of the Hall; or (b) when he ceases (if he is an elected member) to be eligible for election to the Council. Until the first election of Council members, the members of the Residence Committee of the University Council (together with any ex officio and nominated members of the Council for the time in office) are deemed to be members of the Council.

ADMISSION OF STUDENTS
Information on the fee concession scheme will be available in the registration room or can be obtained from the registrar. Students who have satisfactorily completed Part I of the Bachelor of Science, including Biology I, Chemistry I and either Physics I or approx. Students who have satisfactorily completed Part I of the Bachelor of Science including Physics I, Chemistry I and Biology I can apply.
STUDENT LOAN FUND
If the loan is used for purposes other than those specified in the application, the loan will be repaid immediately. The Management Committee shall send to the University Council and the Union Board, no later than March 31 of each year, a report and financial statement on the operation of the Fund in the preceding calendar year. These rules may be amended from time to time with the approval of the University Council and the Union Board.

The value of the award is $50 of books selected by the successful student and approved by the chair of the Part I Science Examination Committee. The prize will be awarded to the best first year science student continuing on to a degree at Flinders University.
SHELL SCHOLARSHIP IN ECONOMICS
COMMONWEAL TH UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition, a scholarship holder who is a full-time student and subject to a means test may qualify for a living allowance. The maximum living allowance will be paid where the "adjusted family income" is $2,800 or less. Where the adjusted family income exceeds $2,800, the living allowance amount paid will be proportionately less than the maximum amount.
JUNIOR RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS
A Commonwealth scholarship can be used for any first degree (e.g. B.A., B.Ec., B.Ed., B.Sc.) or diploma or for an approved combination (e.g. Bachelor of Arts and Diploma) in education or diploma in social administration). The deadline for applications each year is 30 September and application forms and a scholarship booklet are available from the Registrar or from the Regional Director, Adelaide Office, Department of Education and Science, Red Cross House, 228 North Terrace, Adelaide, 5000.

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
The scholarship is awarded annually by the council and is awarded for one year only. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student enrolled for a higher degree at the University of Adelaide or Flinders University in South Australia. Scholarships shall not be awarded unless, in the opinion of the Council, there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The payment of the said amount shall be made in the form of a discount on the college's fees. One quarter of the annual value of the scholarship will be paid to the scholar before his departure from Australia. A decision on a scholarship holder's application for extension must be made before the end of the scholarship's second year.
THE RHODES SCHOLARSHIP
SHELL POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
The cost of the journey to the United Kingdom and the return to Australia, if accomplished within 12 months of completion of the scholarship period, will be paid by The Shell Company of Australia Limited. The final selection is made by a Committee consisting of senior members of University staff and the Management of The Shell Company of Australia Limited. Application for these scholarships must be made in October each year to the Personnel Manager, The Shell Company of Australia Limited, in the capital of the state in which the applicant resides.
FRANK KNOX MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIPS
Applicants for the scholarship must have completed a first degree with honors in Science or Engineering from an Australian university and preferably have at least one year of experience. At the end of the grant period, the holder may be offered a job with the Shell Group, but is not obliged to accept it. The scholarships are open to male British nationals who have lived in Australia for the past five years.

BRITISH PASSENGER LINES' FREE PASSAGE SCHEME FOR UNIVERSITY GRADUATES
The Lines will also grant passage to the wives and dependent children of such scholars at the minimum fare applicable to the vessel on which the passengers travel. Award winners travel on sailings to and from North America, as nominated by P&0 Lines. The Lines also grant passage to dependent women and children of such graduates at the minimum fare for the ship on which the passengers travel.
CANADIAN PACIFIC AIRLINES AWARD FOR TRAVEL TO CANADA
Selection of candidates shall be in the hands of the universities and the Australian Vice-Chancellor's Committee. All applicants must complete an application form, which must be sent to the university's registrars no later than 31 May of the year in which the award is to be taken up. The forms for selected candidates must be forwarded to the Canadian High Commissioner by June 30 of the same year.
