The Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor, or in their absence the Registrar, shall call a meeting of the Council on the written requisition of four members, and such requisition shall state the purposes for which the meeting is to be called. The Council has the power to issue, amend and revoke standing orders for the regulation of its work. The Senate shall from time to time have power to make, amend and repeal _Slanding Or{eqs for the regulation of its proceedings.
Until amended or repealed, the Rules of Procedure of the Senate adopted on December 2, 1885 shall remain in force.

There will be other professors and other teachers whom the Council will appoint from time to time. Each professor and each lecturer exercises his or her duties under the conditions that have been or may be determined by the council at the time of appointment. There shall be a Registrar of the University, who shall perform such duties as the Council may from time to time appoint.

It will be at his discretion, or at the written request of the Chancellor or the Vice-Chancellor, - or both members of the. With the approval of the Council, the Board may issue rules for the conduct of University students.
Scholarships are awarded by the examiners on the basis of a comparison of the candidates' academic records, and also on the basis of an original thesis, design or study, as indicated in the next section. Reimbursement for travel expenses is paid to the scholar after approval of his proposed departure date. Payment of the balance of the stipend shall be made quarterly at the Agent-General's office in London, or at such other place or places as the Council may from time to time direct, after the first payment.

The income (including this grant) to be derived from the said sum, or so much of such income as will be sufficient, shall be applied to the payment of the said scholarship and exhibitions, and so much of such income as in every year it will not be so approved it will be. THE ELDER CONSERVATORIUM OT' MUSIC
Students may not, except with permission from the director, receive their education elsewhere than at the Conservatory. Students may not participate in any public concert or accept public engagement anywhere other than at ihã Conservatoríum, except with the permission of the Director. A copy of any composition so published shall be kept in the Library of the Conservatory.
Students guilty of impropriety or violation of rules must be reported to the Disciplinary Committee.
THE ELDER SCHOLARSHIPS REGULATIONS
Students who intend to discontinue classes must notify the director in writing of such intention at least one month before the end of the semester. Students must attend such orchestral, vocal, or other instructional classes as the director deems essential to their progress. A scholarship is awarded to the candidate who shows the greatest professional talent and promise, and not necessarily to the most advanced on graduation.
A scholar will participate in such Conservatory concerts, recitals and other activities as the Director of the Conservatory may require.

Part of the cost was paid by Lady Parsons and by the Government of South Australia. The Institute earns about 99,000 a year from laboratory examination fees, although the expenses of the Institute now exceed 985,000 a year.
THE ANTI-CANCER COMMITTEE
Since the first Edwald Neale Bequest became available for medical research (preferably in cancer), the University Council has allocated the proceeds to the Cornmittee for research into the pathological problems associated with cancer; for ten years. The Comrnittee also conducts a dual educational campaign - to keep the medical profession in South Australia informed.

The Comrnittee is also conducting a dual educational campaign to keep the medical profession in South Australia informed about. the latest methods and aids for diagnosis and treatment, including inculcating members of the general public about the danger signs and. the need for immediate consultation with the local doctor when. the first symptoms and signs appear. The council compiles and maintains a record of each graduate's academic and extra-university career. Persons seeking approval shall submit the evidence and information required by the Council and comply with the conditions laid down by the Council.
