POSITION INFORMATION
Swimming Coach (Bronze Level).
Carlile Swimming Organisation is adding to its coaching staff with our successful competitive program at Cherrybrook (Sydney). The position will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to be further trained in all aspects of competitive swimming coaching with an emphasis on providing technical support to swimmers in all squads during training and at meets.

This exciting, challenging and rewarding position offers the successful applicant the following opportunities:
● Coaching both younger development swimmers and high school team swimmers in excellent facilities at Carlile’s Cherrybrook pool and at Oakhill College
● Working with an experienced and successful Head Coach
● Full time employment, in a rapidly improving competitive program supported by the
extensive talent base provided by Carliile Swimming’s Learn to Swim Schools in Sydney's northwest.
● Access to strength and conditioning facilities and qualified staff
● Access to and financial support for continuing coach education
● Access to extensive Carlile Swimming resources
● Benefiting from the ongoing financial support of the Carlile Foundation
● Working in conjunction with Cherrybrook Carlile Swimming Club, which is supported by a motivated and efficient committee
Duties include:
● Coaching of younger development and school team swimmers
● Provide assistance to the coaching staff of state and national squads on a rotating roster.
● Provide technical assistance to swimmers and coaches at all major meets as decided by the Head Coach: including, videoing of races and all technical support in relation to this service.
● Planning and implementing season plans and programs for development and school swimmers in consultation with the Head Coach
● Attending School, Club, District, Metropolitan, and New South Wales meets.
● Liaising and attending meetings with Cherrybrook and other Carlile coaches
● Liaising with Cherrybrook Carlile Club Committee
● Performing the duties of more senior coaches in their absence
● Talent identification of junior swimmers and providing coaching services to specialised talent identification groups.
● Liaison with Carlile Swimming swim schools regarding the promotion of swim school students to the competitive squads
The successful applicant should:
● Be well organised.
● Be personable and have excellent communication skills.
● Be able to work within a coaching team.
● Have a desire to make swimming coaching a career path.
● Have a senior first aid and basic resuscitation certificate
● Have excellent computer and video application skills.
The position would be best suited to a current coach who would like to be involved in working with younger developing competitive swimmers, or an excompetitive swimmer interested in pursuing a coaching career.
Selection Criteria
Desirable: the ambition and potential to gain coaching qualifications, as outlined in the national coaching accreditation system.
Experience in sports science.
