IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE

SYDNEY-NORTH REGIONAL FOX BAITING PROGRAM

Please be advised that the regional fox baiting program will be undertaken at local reserves in the Sydney North Region. The aim of the project is to protect native wildlife including threatened species from fox predation.

1080 POISON BAITS WILL BE LAID IN THE FOLLOWING RESERVES:

• Bidjigal Reserve

(Managed by The Bidjigal Reserve Trust)

• Eric Mobbs Reserve, Excelsior Reserve, Ted Horwood Reserve (Managed by The Hills Shire Council)

Foxoff® poison baits (containing 1080) will be laid from Tuesday, 1 May 2018 to Friday, 18 May 2018.

The fox control program will involve the use of ‘Foxoff® Econobait’ poison baits that are designed specifically for fox control. Poison baits contain 1080 (sodium monofluoroacetate). Baits will be buried to reduce the risk of non-target poisoning. Warning signs will be displayed to notify the public about the program.

It is vital that pet owners take extra precautions to ensure that their pets do not enter these reserves during the dates stated. Penalties up to $1,100 apply under the Local Government Act (1993) Sect 632 (2) (d).

WARNING

1080 POISON IS LETHAL TO CATS AND DOGS.

Cats and Dogs must not enter baited reserves during the following dates:

• Tuesday, 1 May 2018 to Friday, 15 June 2018 Dogs on leads can return to these reserves

on Saturday, 16 June 2018.

PUBLIC NOTICE

CASTLE HILL BUS INTERCHANGE – PROPOSED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OLD NORTHERN ROAD, CASTLE HILL (TERMINUS STREET TO CRANE ROAD) In accordance with Section 115 of the Roads Act 1993, at its meeting on 10 April 2018 Council approved the temporary closure of the Castle Hill bus interchange in the section of Old Northern Road between Terminus Street and Crane Road for a period of approximately eight months. The closure will commence on Sunday, 29 April 2018.

The closure is associated with the Sydney Metro Northwest project and will allow for the construction of a new bus interchange adjacent to the Castle Hill station.

During the period of the closure the existing bus interchange operations will be relocated to the Old Northern Road ‘Main Street’ precinct between Crane Road and Showground Road. This will also necessitate the closure of the Old Northern Road

‘Main Street’ precinct to north-bound traffic only. South-bound traffic including buses will still be able to drive through the ‘Main Street’ precinct.

Details on access restrictions to the Old Northern Road ‘Main Street’ precinct including alternative routes can be found at www.sydneymetro.info/northwest Motorists, pedestrians and bus passengers are advised to follow traffic control signage in the area and be cautious.

WAVES FITNESS & AQUATIC CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT Ref: RFP18-01

The Hills Shire Council (THSC) is seeking Request For Proposals from qualified groups and organisations, to assist in the redevelopment of the existing Waves Fitness & Aquatic Centre in Baulkham Hills, NSW. The property size is approximately 1.2 hectares, with an estimated development budget in the order of $20–$30 million.

Respondents should have a demonstrable commitment to the delivery of an outstanding aquatic centre that will create a strong and modern meeting place, play space and educational/training hub for the Hills residents for the next 50 years.

ORANGE BLOSSOM FESTIVAL ASSOCIATED EVENTS

Orange Blossom Festival (OBF) is a month of community focused events from 1–30 September 2018. OBF is about generating a sense of community pride and involvement and was created to highlight the progressive and diverse nature of the Hills community and present residents with the opportunity to engage in and learn about the wide range of community groups, clubs and associations they can be involved with.

As a part of this Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from suitably qualified businesses, events, community groups, organisations or sporting clubs who would like to be part of the OBF2018.
