Dance staff are proud to offer you, this season, works choreographed by NATALIE WEIR and DIANNA MOORE.
Natalie Weir, from Townsville, graduated from the Associate Diploma in the Arts (Dance) course in 1984, and has since developed the choreographic skills learnt at college, becoming a much sought after choreographer, both in Queensland and interstate.
Natalie has choreographed three works for •Expressions•, the Queensland Dance Theatre, and is currently the co-ordinator of the primary schools programme
being run by •Expressions• touring throughout Queensland and Victoria.
Later in the year, Natalie will be choreographing a work for the third year students at the Australian Ballet School for their •creations• season, and has also been asked to create a work for 'Dance North•.
Dianna Moore was a foundin9 member and dancer for ten years with the Sydney based international folk dance company, 'Dance Concert•. She left Australia in 1975 and worked with many companies including 'Ballet Folklorico de Mexico•,
•Polish State Dance Company•, 'Slask' and the •Hungarian State Ensemble'.
In 1976 she was accepted as a dancer into the International Folkloristisch Danstheater in Amsterdam and remained with the company for nine years, rising to the position of Ballet Mistress in 1981.
Dianna returned to Australia at the end of 1985 to be the Artistic Director of the Australian Folkloric Dance Company, which is likely to begin operations early in 1987.
