PART IV-EXPLORATION

When a drill crew is ahead of a firing crew to the extent that a shot hole will not be fired after completion of drilling, a temporary plug or cover must be placed in or over the shot hole until the firing crew is ready to fire the shot hole. shoot. charge Explosives, including detonators, must be stored in a cool and dry place and not exposed to shock during transport. The use of ammonium nitrate mixture as an explosive shall be subject to the provisions of this Section, unless the State Mining Engineer approves other conditions for its handling and use in writing.
If artificial lighting of a maga2line is required, portable electric lanterns or torches of flameproof construction must be used. Every magazine shall be under the charge of the person in charge or an authorized person who shall be in possession of the keys of the magazine and who shall be responsible for the safe custody of the explosives contained therein. The name of such authorized person must be entered in a register kept for this purpose by the person in charge.
Separate containers or separate compartments of a container shall be used for the carriage of explosives, cap fuses and electric detonators. Explosives shall not be taken from a magazine except in such quantities as may be required during the day and any excess explosives shall be returned to a magazine unless the State Mining Engineer approves temporary storage in accepted containers. The short circuit in the firing cable must not be opened until all persons have removed to a safe place and it must be located in such a way that.
After a shot has been fired, the trigger cables must be immediately removed from the trigger switch and short-circuited. - the ignition cables are connected to the firing cables through the appropriate connectors attached to the firing cables. Before leaving the firing point, all parts of the cartridges that have been discharged from the firing hole must be destroyed and all other debris removed.
COMPLETION, MAJOR REPAIR, RECOMPLETION AND ABANDONMENT OF WELLS
Along with the plan, a copy of the field notes, planetable sheets if used, and any other data relevant to the survey must be submitted, unless the Senior Petroleum Technologist approves otherwise. Reports of technical studies on samples and cores obtained from wells, including paleontology, permeability and porosity determinations, will be submitted by the Person in Charge to the Senior Petroleum Technologist as soon as they are available. The report shall be a faithful record of the drilling and completion or abandonment of the well.
This report, in a form acceptable to the Senior Petroleum Technologist, shall be submitted within six weeks of the completion of such operation. When a well needs to be abandoned, the operator must observe the following provisions:-. a). The length of ropes for hoists or masts is as follows: - Height.
The form of registration must be in accordance with the provisions of A.P.I. Standard RP9B or such other form as may be acceptable to the Senior Petroleum Technologist. The main gasoline or liquid fuel tank must be located at least fifty feet from the compressors. At least two valves must be installed in the main air or gas supply line. Suitable tanks or gauges must be provided for measuring oil and gas quantities.
An annual report on the total production of a field must be submitted by the operator to Senior Petroleum. Before commencement of any system of artificial lift in any field, details of the proposed system shall be furnished to the Senior Petroleum Technologist.
INSTALLATIONS
Installed so that it is at least eighteen feet above the ground above areas where vehicular traffic is crossed; or. Installed so that it is at least three meters above the ground or floor for all other areas. Switchgear or engine starting equipment shall be provided with an isolating switch interlocked with the cover of the equipment so as to prevent the opening or removal of such cover while the equipment therein is in operation or the isolator is in the closed position.
If, in the opinion of an inspector, a condition exists in any part of a pipeline which may endanger life or property, he may order in writing that the part be taken out of service or that other precautionary measures approved by him be taken. to ensure safety, and the section manager will immediately follow the order. If, during the construction and operation of the pipeline, an accident occurs directly resulting therefrom, resulting in death or serious bodily injury to any person, or serious damage to property, the responsible person shall immediately report the accident by telephone or telegram to the State Mining Engineer. After repairing the break, the responsible person shall immediately submit a written report to the State Mining Engineer, giving full information thereof, including: a) the time and place of the break;
