THE WRITS OF DEDIMUS ACT OF 1871,

An Act to authorize the Issuing of Writs of Dedimus Potestatem and Commissions for taking Affidavits within and without the Colony of Queensland
[ASSENTED TO 13 JUNE, 1871]
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
1. Writs of dedimus potestatem and commissions for affidavits may be issued and executed outside the colony. Writs of dedimus potestatem and commissions for taking affidavits in the Supreme Court may be issued as has been the practice heretofore and may be executed within and without the colony and all such writs and commissions heretofore issued and all things done thereunder are hereby declared valid.
2. Short title. This Act may be cited for all purposes as "'The Writs
