ACT OF 1966, No. 11

An Act to provide for the Closure of and Transfer to Brisbane City Council of that Part of Albert Street known as King George Square [Assented to 5 December, 1966]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title. This Act may be cited as "The Brisbane City Square Act of 1966."

(2) Commencement. This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation published in the Gazette.

Commenced 23 February 1967 (Proc. pubd. Gaz. 25 February 1967, p. 710).

2. Closure of Part of Albert Street. On and from the date of the coming into operation and by virtue of this Act the land (in this Act called the " said land ") comprised in the Part known as King George Square of Albert Street in the City of Brisbane, being the Part of that street between Adelaide Streetand Ann Street, described as allotment 21 ofsection XI, City of Brisbane, containing an area of 3 roods 23 perches, as shown on Plan Catalogue No. B. 3.2197, deposited in the Survey Office at Brisbane is closed as a public road and is vested in Brisbane City Council for an estate in fee-simple.

3. Deed of grant. Subject to Brisbane City Council paying the appropriate deed and assurance fees, the Governor in Council shall issue to it a deed of grant comprising the said land.

4. Reservations and conditions. The said land shall vest as prescribed by this Act, and the deed of grant comprising the said land shall be issued subject to such reservations and conditions as are authorized or prescribed by" The Land Acts, 1962 to 1965 " or any other Act.
