No such application or notice shall be made or given, as the case may be, under any business name within the meaning of the Registration of Fil1.1s Act, 1942. i). The description of the place that is registered as the place where the newspaper is or is being printed; Where a person registered under this Part as a printer or publisher of the newspaper ceases to be a printer or, as the case may be, a publisher thereof; or.
In the case of an application for registration, by the persons who are or, as the case may be, intend to be, the owner or owners, printer or printers, and publisher or publishers respectively of the newspaper;. In the case of an application for renewal of registration, by the persons then registered in terms of this Part as the owner or owners, printer or printers, and publisher or publishers respectively of the newspaper;. iii). In the case of a notice or application under section twenty-six of this Act, by the persons then registered under this Part as the owner or owners, printer or printers, and publisher or publishers respectively of the newspaper, and , where an application is made for the registration of a new owner, printer or publisher by that new person:.
This section applies in relation to books and papers, whether printed before, on or after the coming into force of this Act. Person any person named in any certificate or registration issued or made under this Act;. v) falsely pretending to be an inspector;. vi) any such forgery, falsification, omission, use, impersonation, or impersonation as aforesaid;. vii) make or sign a false statutory declaration under or for any purpose of this Act; or. viii). Provided that no person shall be required in terms of this section or in terms of any other provision of this Act to answer any question, or to give any information or evidence, or to sign any statement tending to incriminate himself .
Any person guilty of a violation of any provision of this act, if no specific penalty is provided for such violation, shall be liable to a fine of not more than two hundred dollars. Where an offense against this law is committed in the presence of a member of the police, that member of the police may arrest the offender and bring him before a court to be dealt with according to the law. Any person who breaches or fails to comply with any such condition is guilty of an offense against this Act.
In any proceedings under or for the purpose of this Act or in any proceedings (whether civil or criminal and whether or not there is any affidavit or statutory declaration (including any application or notice) made or given to or filed with a clerk under or for the purposes of this Act shall be sufficient evidence against every person who signs the same of the truth of all particulars set forth therein; v) Service of any process, document or writing at the place registered under this Act, such as where the that a newspaper is or is to be printed, shall be deemed sufficient service thereof upon the persons respectively registered under this Act as the proprietor, printer or publisher of such newspaper; vi). Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Act, if a person who has made an affidavit or statutory declaration or who is referred to in an affidavit or statutory declaration under or for the purposes of this Act, touching a newspaper, applies to the registrar with whom that affidavit or statutory declaration was filed a notice in the form of a further statutory declaration stating that he is no longer associated.
The provisions of The Oaths Acts 1867 to 1924, with any necessary modifications, apply and extend where possible to every application and notice made or given, as the case may be, under or for the purposes of this Act.
