34;"Australian Standard" means a standard rule, code or specification of the Standards Association of Australia; Cd) satisfactorily pass an examination to demonstrate that he has knowledge of the inspection and testing of welded joints. At each examination for the purposes of this Regulation, sixty-five per cent (65% ) or more total points satisfactory success in the exam.

Every notice for fencing or otherwise suitable protection of machinery under section 22 of this Act shall be given in Form 2 of the Second Schedule to these Regulations. Every order issued under section 25 of this Act shall be entered in Form 3A of the Second Schedule to these Regulations.

PART IV-INSPECTION OF MACHINERY

Any notice required to be delivered by the owner of machinery to the Chief Inspector under section 14 of this Act shall be in Form 1 of the Second Schedule to these Regulations. A person shall not construct, erect or alter a crane or hoist, nor shall he construct, erect or alter a crane or hoist, without first obtaining written approval of the design of such crane or hoist from the Chief Inspector. In such written approval, the chief inspector shall indicate the safe working load of the crane or hoist.

The narrow end of the wedge must not extend beyond the rope end of the socket. 4) (a) The Chief Inspector must, when approving an application for the construction, erection, installation or alteration of a lift or escalator, specify in such approval the maximum load carrying capacity of the lift or escalator. A person other than a servant authorized in that capacity by the owner of the lift shall not operate any passenger or goods lift which is not automatically controlled. f) The owner of a lift shall display therein a notice, in a form approved by the Chief Inspector, indicating the maximum load-carrying capacity of such lift. g).

Connecting pipes shall not pass through holes or other gas passages without the approval of the Chief Inspector.

PART V-DUTIES AND LIABILITIES OF OWNERS

PART VII-CERTIFICATES OF COMPETENCY

A candidate for the Engineer's Certificate Examination (Refrigeration) shall, after satisfying the Board that he possesses the qualifications prescribed in regulation 8 (3) of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-. a) good knowledge of refrigeration in all its applications; An applicant for examination for a driver's certificate of the first class shall, after satisfying the commission that he possesses the qualifications prescribed in regulation 9 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-. An applicant for the examination for a second class engineer's certificate shall, after satisfying the board that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by rule SA of the Second Appendix to this act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-.

Motor driver's certificate of the second class, a candidate for examination for the motor driver's certificate of the second class, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications prescribed by Regulation 10 of the Second Schedule to this Act, shall pass a examination satisfactorily to show that he possesses-. a) knowledge of arithmetic and the ability to make simple calculations related to engines and boilers; A candidate for examination for a First Class Boiler Keeper's Certificate shall, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications set out in Regulation 12A (1) of the Second Schedule to this Act, pass an examination satisfactorily to shown that he owns-. A candidate for examination for a Second Class Boiler Keeper's Certificate shall, after satisfying the Board that he has the qualifications set out in Regulation 12A (2) of the Second Schedule to this Act, pass an examination satisfactorily showing that he owns-. a) knowledge of arithmetic and the ability to make simple calculations related to boilers;.

An applicant for examination for a first class crane operator's certificate shall, after satisfying the Commission that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by regulation 13 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-. a) knowledge of the construction of all types of cranes; An applicant for examination for a second class crane driver's certificate shall, after satisfying the commission that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by rule 14 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-. a) knowledge of the construction and operation of all types of overhead cranes; An applicant for 'the examination for an internal combustion engine driver's certificate shall, after satisfying the Commission that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by rule 15 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass the examination to show that he possesses-. a) good knowledge of different types of internal combustion engines, ignition methods and timing control;

A candidate for the examination to obtain a certificate for the driver of a refrigeration machine must, according to by certifying the Board that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by rule 16 of the Second Appendix to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination proving that he has-. a) knowledge of cooling systems in general use; A motor mechanic's certificate shall, after the board finds that he possesses the qualifications prescribed by rule 17 of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to prove that he has--. a) knowledge of the operating principles of internal combustion engines; A motor mechanic certificate shall, on finding by the Board that he possesses the qualifications prescribed in rule 17 (3) of the Second Schedule to this Act, satisfactorily pass an examination to prove that he has-. a) knowledge of the principles of operation of internal combustion engines;

PART IX-GENERAL

If it exceeds 930 square feet, the sum of $162.50 plus $17.50 for each 93 square feet of heated area or portion thereof for which the total heated area exceeds 930 square feet. Provided that in the case of a boiler heated by electricity, the duty is calculated on the basis that one kilowatt is equal to 0.08 square meters of heating surface. For a visit for the purpose of inspection of a boiler which is not ready for inspection on the inspector's arrival - a fee equal to half the applicable prescribed fee as set out above plus any traveling expenses incurred by the inspector, but in any event the total fee paid shall not exceed $33.00.

For examining the design of any lifting beam or frame not exceeding 10 tons. Provided that where more than ten vessels of the same type and size are inspected for the first time at the same place and on the same day, a discount of twenty-five percent (25%) on the relevant fee may be granted at the discretion of the Chief Inspector: request the inspection of such vessels with a capacity of more than 10. 3) For any crane or hoist (including a mobile crane or wheeled excavator) with a capacity of -.
