RESOLVED that the Minutes of the Tweed Regional Museum Advisory Committee meeting held Wednesday 28 August 2019 be accepted as a true and accurate record of the proceedings of that meeting.
Business Arising:
BA1. Lisnagar Homestead
Gary confirmed that Lisnagar Homestead is listed on the State Heritage Register. The National Heritage Register is now defunct however being previously listed on the register will assist with any grant applications.
Gary advised he will email the heritage register links to the Murwillumbah Historical Society which will assist them with any further discussions they may have regarding the homestead.
Ian Fox indicated that the Murwillumbah Historical Society was in contact with the owner’s power of attorney to discuss possible ways the Society could support conservation activities.

A1. Museum Director's Report
The Museum Director's Report was circulated prior to the meeting. Judy provided an overview of the Report.
Judy advised that the Local Government NSW Annual conference is the annual policy- making event for all NSW councils and associate members. At the October 2019

conference, it resolved 'That Local Government NSW lobbies the NSW Government to devise a museum strategy for NSW with sufficient resources to ensure cultural heritage led vibrancy, collection care and local storytelling initiatives are supported, developed and maintained for communities throughout the State'.

RESOLVED that the Tweed Regional Museum Advisory Committee endorses the Museum Director preparing a report to Council recommending it support the Local Government Conference resolution of October 2019 That Local Government NSW lobbies the NSW Government to devise a museum strategy for NSW with sufficient resources to ensure cultural heritage led vibrancy, collection care and local storytelling initiatives are supported, developed and maintained for communities throughout the State.
Judy tabled examples of the proposed new Museum branding developed by Council which will be rolled out in 2020. The Advisory Committee members expressed their support for the new branding.

RESOLVED that the Museum Director's Report be accepted by the Tweed Regional Museum Advisory Committee.
A2. Proposed Acquisitions
The List of Proposed Acquisitions was circulated prior to the meeting. Judy provided an overview of the proposed acquisitions.

RESOLVED that the proposed acquisitions be accepted by the Tweed Regional Museum Advisory Committee.
General Business:
GB1. Tweed Heads Historical Society - Facebook
Brian advised that Tweed Heads Historical Society has launched its Facebook page. The Museum is working with Tweed Heads Historical Society regarding content.
GB2. Code of Conduct for Committee Members
The correspondence and attachments from Council to Committee members regarding the Code of Conduct were distributed to the committee. The documents will also separately emailed to committee members following this meeting.
GB3. Front of House Volunteers
A review is being undertaken of the Front of House Volunteer program.

GB4. Communications Plan
A two year Communications Plan for visitation is being developed. As part of the plan, the Museum will work with Council’s Communications and Customer Experience team, and local tourism groups to maximise opportunities to tap into the self-drive tourism market, including ‘grey nomads’.
GB5. 2020 Councillor Elections
Judy reminded the committee that 2020 is a Council election year so there will likely be two meetings held (February and May) before Council goes into caretaker mode.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting of the Tweed Regional Museum Advisory Committee will be held 26 February 2020.
The meeting closed at 5.11pm.
