PREFACE
QUEENSLAND
CONTINUING REPRINT OF STATUTES
This reprint is designed to encompass ultimately the whole of the statute law of Queensland. It is a departure from the format used in the 1962 Reprint, namely bound book form, and will consist of a number of binders enclosing the statutes printed in individual form.
Reprints in book form have the disadvantage of becoming obsolete very quickly and the new system will, it is envisaged, overcome this to a large extent.
Each Act contained in the reprint carries a note at the head indicating the date to which it is current. These dates are not uniform because the underlying purpose of this reprinting method is fulfilled only if each Act is kept as closely up to date as practicable. The reprint will be continuous in that any Act that is substantially amended will automatically be considered for reprinting and it is hoped that this will be done on an annual basis. Minor amendments will not of themselves constitute the basis for reprinting an Act.
As a service to subscribers of the new reprint, the Government Printer will publish after each Parliamentary Session, a list of Acts passed during each Session. A list of all Acts of Queensland is published in the Queensland Statutes and Case Annotations. These publications will enable the researcher to ascertain the current Statute Law.
