An Act to amend the Swine Compensation Act, 1936-1968.

BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South

(2) The Swine Compensation Act, 1936-1968, as amended by this Act, maybe cited as the "Swine Compensation Act, 1936-1971".
(3) The Swine Compensation Act, 1936-196~, is hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act".
2. This Act shall come into operation on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
3. Section 14 of the principal Act is amended-
(a) by striking out from subsection (2) the word "For", being
and
. the first word in that subsection and inserting in lieu thereof the following passage "In respect of any pig or carcass sold before the commencement of the Swine Compensation Act Amendment Act, 1971, for";
1971 Swine Compensation Act Amendment Act, 1971 No. 56 (b) by inserting immediately after subsection (2) the following
subsection:-
(2a) In respect of any pig or carcass sold on or after the day of commencement of the Swine Compensation Act Amendment Act, 1971, for every three dollars or part of three dollars-
(a) of the amount of the purchase-money in respect of one pig or one carcass, as the case may be, sold singly;

(b) of the total amount of the purchase~money
in respect of any number of pigs or carcasses, as the case may be, sold in one lot,
there shall be payable a stamp duty of one cent but the stamp duty in respect of the amount of the purchase- money of anyone pig or anyone carcass, as the case may be, whether sold singly or as part of a lot, shall not exceed twenty-one cents,
