An Act to amend the Branding of Pigs Act, 1964.
[Assented to 3rd November, 1966.]
BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Branding of Pigs Act Short tltI ••
Amendment Act, 1966".
(2) The Branding of Pigs Act, 1964, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the "Branding of Pigs Act, 1964-1966".
(3) The Branding of Pigs Act, 1964, is hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act".
2. This Act is incorporated with the principal Act and that Incorporation.
Act and this Act shall be read as one Act.
3. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by striking out ~~=eI~~
the definition of "brand" therein and inserting in lieu thereof ~ tat!

"brand" means a mark of a kind prescribed for the purposes of this Act and "to brand" means to impress a pig with a brand:.
4. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended by striking out A=~t~

5. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended-
(a) by striking out the word "pig" occurring immediately before the word "brand" in subsection (1) thereof;
and
(b) by inserting at the end thereof the following sub- section : -
(4) Notwithstanding subsection (1) of this section, a person may sell or offer for sale a pig which is not branded in accordance with that subsection if such pig is under the age of six weeks and is sold or offered for sale with a sow which it is at the time of the sale or offer still suckling.
6. The principal Act is amended by striking out each passage therein representing an amount of money in terms of the currency provided for by the Ooinage Act 1909-1947 of the Commonwealth and inserting in lieu thereof in each case a passage representing the equivalent amount of money in terms of the currency provided for by the Ourrency Act 1965 of the Commonwealth calculated on the basis of the equivalents specified in subsection (4) of section 8 of that Act.
