Student Guidance
Appointments Board
If treatment is required, students are advised to consult a practitioner of their own choice. In this university there are approximately six thousand students; contributions from these students would greatly alleviate this need. It is therefore in a position to assist those who require advice on university courses in relation to careers.
Students in need of employment during the holidays should enroll early to allow enough time for the board to make the necessary arrangements; those who need jobs during the long holiday must register before the end of August. Students in their senior year and considering tenure should apply early in their senior year and should maintain contact with the nomination committee until they are sufficiently placed. It is recommended that all students visit the Appointments Committee two to three times a year during their studies to meet the Secretary and his assistants and to be informed about current employment trends.
Mann for men educated in engineering and science; and Miss Marjorie Ross for Women of All Colleges. The committee's responsibility to graduates continues throughout their tenure; and there are very few graduates whom the Appointments Committee cannot help at some stage of their working life. All mien an l woolen currently registered and available for employment are notified of relevant vacancies to be notified by the Board of Directors.
They also receive a copy of the Appointments Committee report each year, which contains updated information on recruitment trends, graduate opportunities and current salary rates. Seven residential schools are connected to the University, each of which offers additional teaching, mainly tutoring. Higher education teaching is available for non-residents and residents; at University Women's College, for two years only.
The University fees mentioned above do not include the College fees, which are paid to the Colleges themselves. For further information regarding the Colleges, students are referred to the sections printed in the University Calendar and College Leaders.
