BY-LAWS OF THE

QUEENSLAND INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Under the Director, the Registrar shall— (a) be responsible for the general administration of the Institute. The Council may lay down rules for the implementation of all or some of the provisions of this statute.

RULES RELATING TO STUDENT MATTERS

Dean of Faculty means a member of the academic staff appointed by the Council and so appointed. Head of Department' means a member of the academic staff appointed by the Council and thus designated as the senior academic staff in a particular department.

GENERAL EXAMINATION RULES

Part I. DEFINITIONS

Reference to 'Head of Department' in these Rules shall be deemed to include reference to 'Head of School'.

DETERMINATION AND NOTIFICATION OF ASSESSMENT PROVISIONS

The Registrar should first contact the lecture halls, seminar halls, drawing offices and other examination accommodation during the approved periods for the Central Examinations. The Registrar may determine the date on which all Central Examination papers required to be marked by examiners must be forwarded to the Examinations Section within the Registrar's Office and the form in which such papers shall be accepted. a) The Registrar shall be responsible for preparing a timetable for all Central Examinations and for publishing such timetable as required by these rules.

ELIGIBILITY TO UNDERTAKE ASSESSMENT PROVISIONS

DEFERRED EXAMINATIONS AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

Such applications should be filed with the Secretary as soon as practicable, and in any event by the deadlines set forth in the Institute's current calendar. Such applications must be supported by medical or other supporting documents in the form specified in Article 15. b) The secretary forwards the applications for special consideration to the appropriate dean of the faculty for evaluation.

CONDUCT OF EXAMINATIONS 16. Responsibility for Conduct of Examinations

The candidate may not leave the examination room before the end of the examination session without the permission of the invigilator. A person, whether a candidate or not, must not do anything intended to assist any other person sitting for the examination to cheat or otherwise defeat the purposes of the examination.

PENAL TY FOR BREACH OF RULES 28. Penalties

Based on the results given by the Head of Department, the Registrar will give each Academic Board. The Academic Board responsible for the subject in which the student is registered must notify the registrar of a final result no later than two weeks (or six weeks with the approval of the Academic Board) after the start of the next semester.

REVIEW OF RESULTS

In such cases, the Registrar will inform the student in writing to contact the Head of Department responsible for the execution of the subject in order to establish exact requirements in order to be able to issue the final result. Except in the case where the Academic Council responsible for the course has decided that further assessment is desirable before the publication of a final result, the student will be given the opportunity to submit reasons to the Registrar why the result should not be withheld not.

Subject to the director's and the Department Council's overall control, the head librarian must. Any person seeking permission to use the Library under Rule 5(a)(iv) must apply in writing to the Dean of the Faculty of Law.

CENTRAL SERVICES

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

Most of them are connected to the Institute's computer network via the MICOM 600/2 Port Selector, which enables connection to any computer in the network. Technical space comprising studios, graphics workshop and darkrooms is on level 1. The office suite, seminar room and self-service workshop is on level 2. The AM Fraser Library is located in the center of the campus in 'V' block.

STUDENT SERVICES

It was founded with the financial assistance of the QIT Union and exists to foster social interaction within and between students and staff of the QIT community. The Club is also managed by a committee elected by members of the QIT Union executive and members of the Club.

INSTITUTE FUNCTIONS

The QIT Union organizes various activities on campus to acquaint students with the activities of various clubs and societies and to acquaint students with the social life of the campus. Other publications relating to specific functions of the Institute are - - Queensland Tertiary Courses Brochure.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Students who intend to apply for admission to the right course are not considered unregistered students and must follow the application procedures described earlier. Applicants do not need to apply through a Queensland Tertiary Admissions Center unless they wish to enroll on a course from which they are not excluded.

ADMISSION POLICY and ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must provide a full description of the program(s), including purpose, structure and other information about the organizing body; duration and location of classes, seminars, workshops; Outcomes obtained and perceived benefits of participation or reasons for not completing (if applicable). Diploma or diploma from a recognized university or CAE, except that in the case of a diploma, additional duties may be required from the Head of the Management Department;

A student who is absent from a course for more than seven days in total will be refused a certificate of satisfactory completion of the course, unless he or she shows cause to the Dean of the Faculty of Law why such a certificate should be granted. . . If it is a non-law elective or an introductory accounting course, a student enrolled in a full 1-time course or an internal part-time course must meet the admission requirements for the Faculty of Business Administration or other relevant faculty. . In the case of a subject corresponding to a non-law elective or of Introductory Accounting and, in the case of James Cook University, in the case of a subject corresponding to Introduction to Law or Criminal Law and Procedure, a student who is enrolled in an external 1 course, must enroll in one or more higher education institutions, other than QIT, approved by the dean. of the Faculty of Law and must meet the admission requirements for such institution or institutions. k) Where the course structure requires a choice of subjects, this choice is subject to any prerequisite requirements, the availability of a subject in the timetable, the availability of staff and a sufficient minimum enrollment for a subject.

The special law elective mentioned above is a one-semester law course that is conducted internally when, in the opinion of the faculty dean, sufficient academic staff with the necessary expertise in the relevant subject other than one of the above are available. faculty and a sufficient number of students are enrolled in the course.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

The Law Book Company prize of a book voucher valued at $100.00 awarded each year to the best student in Introduction to Law. The Law Book Company prize of a book voucher valued at $150.00 awarded each year to the best student in succession.

SYNOPSES

In eighteen hours of lectures, the wider context of the operation of the criminal law will be taken into account. This part of the course will introduce the students to penal principles and the reasons for imposing punishment by the state, to aspects.
