Note.—Students who are intending to take the Agricul- ture Course are advised to consult the Dean of the Faculty before entering upon it.
Compulsory Entrance Subjects.—There are none, hut as a preliminary to the *degree course the following subjects at the School Intermediate Examination standard are ad- vised:— Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, and French or German. A knowledge of Physics and Chemistry is also desirable. Matriculation is required.
(1) Bachelor of Agricultural Science (B+.Agr.Sc.).—Can- didates are required to complete four years and pass four examinations for this degree. Credit may be retained for subjects passed in any year, and candidates may. with the permission of the Faculty, proceed with subjects of a later year.
During each year of the course, candidates must attend Lectures, Laboratory Work, Demonstrations, and Excur- sions as required by the Faculty. In the Second Year of the course, residence at the Werribee State Research Farm is required. A pre-requisite to entry on the Fourth Year of the course is the production of certificates of not less than five weeks' experience in some phase of pastoral, agricul- tural or horticultural work, approved by the Faculty. The period covered by the certificates must have been spent since the December Annual examinations of the Second Year.
SUBJECTS OF THE COURSE.
The subjects of Lectures, Practical work, and Examina- tion in the various years of the course are as follow:—

tical with the Degree course, except that matriculation is not required. It is necessary, however, that candidates should have passed at some Public Examination in six subjects, Including English, Algebra, and Geometry, unless they are, for special reasons, exempted by the Professorial Board from this requirement.

Far students combining in any one year the subjects necessary to complete one year of the course and some only of the subjects of the succeeding year, the fees are as for single- subjects or £25 ; but if the whole of one year is taken with•one or more subjects of another year, the latter must be paid for as single subjects.

In the latter case admission by the Faculty is required. At least a year of practical work, involving training in re- search and the passing of an examination in an approved branch of science applied to Agriculture are then required.
*A residence Fee of £1/5/- per week (about £37/10/- in all) is payable by male students to th e Council of Agricultural Edu- cation for the period spent at Werribee State Research Farm.
Women students will defray the cost of their lodgings and pay for such meals as they have on the farm in accordance with an approved scale.
tNo student may enter for this subject without the special permission of the Faculty unless he has passed in at least three subjects of the first year of the course for the Degree or Diploma of Agriculture.
The examination is for pass and honours, and includes—
(a) the preparation during the year of a critical review of the literature on some subject or subjects; (b) a report by the candidate on his original work; (c) an examina- tion which may be both written and practical; provided that if (b) is of sufficient merit the candidate may be ex- cused from (c). Candidates must be Bachelors of Agricul- ture of at least one year's standing before they can be ad- mitted to the degree.
A J. M. Higgins Research Foundation Scholarship of £125 may be awarded on the honour results of the examination.
Bachelors of Agriculture of three years' standing may also be admitted to the degree on the results of an approved thesis, or on evidence of three years' experience together with a dissertation on an approved subject or subjects and an examination therein.
FEES PAYABLE.
For the Examination, £5/5/-, which is deducted from the degree fee of £12/12/- if the candidate passes. If a thesis is submitted the examination fee is £10/10/-.
