The incidents depicted in the play have happened many tirnes in the past, and will probably happen again if the authorities continue to use debased types to contact aborigines, instead of scientists. fu the motive of the play is to give a typical rvhite labour scout through the eyes of nibal aborigines, the aboricines' talk is given straight, Pidein is only used when they are retailing remarks of the u'hite man

UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE STT]DENT THEATBE GROT]P

For the first time Since its inception, the Student Theatre Group's Annual Presentation of oneact plays (Freshers' Foursome is the 1949 tide) will nrn for more than one night. This is due not only to its outstandinR success from an audience point of view in the past, when packed houses of students have loudly showed their enthusiasm, but also to the fact that a huge increase in this yearls membership has made it necessary in a number of instances to cast two players for the one part.

Even at the risk of adversely affecting the standard of the productions, the Student Theatre Group Committee considered it more important that they live up to their recruiting promise of "every fresher gets a part" and fulfil the following 6ys 2im5 -

l. To'giveevery new membeY an opportunity to participate in the activities of the group.

2. To simplify the casting of the two three.act plays scheduled for the Second Term'

. One of these three-act plays u'ill represent Adelaide in the Australian Universities Drama Festival. to be held at the Tivoli in August'

The Student Theatre Group will be working in coniunction with a special Drama Festival Committee, and would appreciate the co-operation of its members.

indeed of all people, in ensu.ring the success of this outstanding dramatic event.

If you are prepated to offer your helo in other capacity for tbe Drama Festival please advise any Student Theatre Group Committee member immediately.
