Since t h e laboratory started operating a b o u t a year ago more t h a n 4,000 fleeces have been tested by t h e Department's flock testing service.
Today about 45 per cent, of the Merino rams bred and sold in Western A u s - tralia come from stnds which are using fleece measurement.
