Delivery of LUI cards and online resources for students and parents
Purpose
To advise schools about the:
• delivery of Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) cards for Year 10 students
• online resources for students and parents available on the QCAA website.
Background
QCAA is committed to working with schools to:
• encourage students to log in to their learning account regularly to check their personal and enrolment details, and become familiar with the login process before results are released at the end of Year 12
• raise students’ and parents’ awareness and understanding of the key aspects of Queensland’s current system of senior assessment and tertiary entrance and the changes planned for implementation from 2018.
Information
LUI cards
LUI cards will start arriving in schools next week. These contain a credit card-sized ‘pop out’ card on which students can record their LUI and password.
Students will need these details each time they access their learning account on the Student Connect website: www.studentconnect.qcaa.qld.edu.au.

What you need to do
• Distribute LUI cards to Year 10 students at your school.
• Issue or reissue LUI numbers to Year 10 students.
• Remind staff of the resources available on the QCAA website for students and parents, which may be of use at Year 10 evenings and other parent information sessions.
Schools are reminded that they can quickly and easily print lists of student names, LUIs and passwords from the SLIMS Registration and Banking System, which may help with distributing the LUI cards to Year 10 students.
An instruction sheet outlining how to do this is available on the QCAA website:
www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/slims/user-guides-help.
