ORDINANCE enacted by the Cfovernor of flouth Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
To impose Penalties on Persons injuring or endangering the Property o f others by wilfU1 or neglipnnt burning of Stubble and other Produce,
[30th November, 1847.
HEREAS the recldess and negligent setting on fire of Preamble.

stubble, grass, and other crops and produce is attended with danger, and ought to be restrained,Be it theyefore Enacted, by the Governor of South Australia, W~IM or negligent
with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof- fire raising.
That whosoever shall, by the setting on fire or burning of timber, gra+ ,traw, stubble, hay, grass, or other produce or material, growing, lying, or being in auy place whatsoever, wilfully or negli- gently destroy, injure, or cndanger thc property of any other person shall, on convictioi~ for every such offence, forfeit and pay a penalty of not less than Five Pounds, 110s exceeding Twenty Pe,lty,

11. Provided always, and be it Enacted, That no conviction Proviso.

Appropriation, IV. And be it Enacted; That all penalties and sums so recovered sl~all be paid to the Coloilis~I Treasurer, on bcllalf of Her Majesty, Her Heirs mid Successors, for the public uses of' the Province, and support of the Government thereof.
Commencement, V. And be it Enacted, That this Ordinance shall commence from and after the fifteenth clay of December next.
