The Act provides for a Board of Advanced Education to provide co-ordinating functions for all Queensland Colleges, but all responsibility for the internal governance of the Institute rests with the Q.l.T. Responsibility for Conduct of Examinations

The supervisor may prescribe the form to be submitted by students intending to take the departmental examination and prescribe the deadline by which they must submit it to him. At the discretion of the Registrar or Head of Division, as the case may be, a form required to be filed under these rules may be accepted after the date prescribed for filing, subject to payment of any fee prescribed for late filing. The departmental exam schedule is prepared by the head of the department and published on the relevant notice boards. The candidate may not leave the examination room before the end of the examination session without the permission of the invigilator. Examiners submit to the Head of Department or Principal Examiner, if appointed. The Head of Department or Chief Examiner shall forward to the Academic Board responsible for the subject the results he recommends, together with any comments made by the examiner concerned in relation to those results for each candidate. The responsible head of the department forwards to the relevant academic assembly a list of the final results of each candidate enrolled in that course who has been proposed for examination.

The Academic Board responsible for the subject in which the student is registered must notify the registrar of a final result no later than two weeks (or six weeks with the approval of the Academic Board) after the start of the next semester. After the approval of the Academic Board controlling the course or a Committee of the Board to which authority has been delegated under section 40, the results may be published by the head of the department offering the course. After the certification of the results provided for in section 37, these shall be published at the direction of the Registrar.

Where an Academic Board responsible for a course has established a policy relating to the assessment of examination results, it may delegate to a Committee of the Board the authority to exercise its powers under these rules. Unregistered students must apply for registration each year and their applications may be accepted or rejected by the Registrar on the recommendation of the respective Head of Department. An Academic Board may appoint an Academic Board Committee to make recommendations to the Academic Board.

An application for readmission after expulsion must be made in writing to the Registrar no later than two months before the beginning of the semester for which readmission is sought. A student readmitted under these rules may, at the discretion of the Academic Council, be required to re-enroll and be assessed in any course or courses the student took prior to expulsion. Under the general supervision of the director and the board of the institution, the chief librarian:-.

The times during which the library must be open are set by the chief librarian, subject to the director's approval, and posted at the entrance to the library. Union Fees means such fees as may be determined by the Council for membership of the Queensland Institute of Technology Union. Registration' means applying for registration as a student of the Institute, and includes new registrations and re-registrations. A student who gives proper written notice to the registrar of the withdrawal of his registration not later than six weeks after the first day of a term shall be entitled to a refund of Union fees paid.

A student will be required to pay only one deposit, regardless of the number of such courses included in a registration. A member of staff or a student is not permitted to park a vehicle on Institute premises unless such person has previously applied for a parking permit and such permit has been granted. For vehicle parking violations, the Director may revoke the permit for a certain period or for the remainder of the academic year.

For a violation by a person who does not have a parking permit, when parking a vehicle, the director can order the removal of the vehicle from the premises of the institution, and the person is obliged to pay the costs of removal. All full-time or part-time employees (and those with academically equivalent salaries, including principals, vice-principals, and school principals) are granted permission. In cases assessed as equivalent on the basis of need, length of service based on years of continuous service regardless of the employee's system of employment.

STAGE II

For a registered student enrolled in a part-time diploma course in higher accounting, the courses and other work are as follows. The Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture is a six-semester part-time course that is a continuation of Section A of the BAppSc course. For a registered Bachelor of Architecture student, the courses and other parts of the three-year part-time study are as follows.

To obtain a degree in automatic control, a registered student must complete the courses and work in the following program for four semesters of part-time study in agreement with the Academic Committee on Engineering. Completion of the Diploma in Civil Engineering qualifies for postgraduate membership of the Institute of Builders, Queensland Branch. For a registered student of the Civil Engineering postgraduate course, the courses and other parts of the six semesters of part-time study are as follows - FIRST YEAR.

For the registered student who is enrolled in the part-time Diploma in Business Administration, the courses and other work of the four semesters of study are as follows. To be eligible to register for the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering, an applicant requires. For a student registered for the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering, the courses and other work for the six semesters of part-time study are as follows.

For a registered student with the Graduate Diploma in Industrial Design, the subjects and other work of the six-semester part-time study are as follows. For a registered student with the Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture, the subjects and other work of the six-semester part-time study are as follows. For a registered student who is a full-time student for the Graduate Diploma in Library Science, the subjects and other work of the full-time course are as follows.

For a registered student with the Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying, the subjects and other work of the six-semester part-time study are as follows.
