In last year's latest issue of "Melbourne University Magazine," a writer re-examined an Evergreen Topic. The "Speculum" now has a separate account, an arrangement that due to the growth of this organ of the M.S.S. proved necessary. Sewell gave a series of clinical lectures on the "clinical physiology of the nervous system."

L. PARK,

For a report on the transactions and results, members are referred to the latest issue of the Speculum. During the negotiations, we were expertly supported by our Honorary and Vice President, Dr. Allen, for the great interest he has shown in the work of our Society and in our magazine. At a special general meeting of the Association on April 12, which called for the consideration of students beginning their education at this medical school, the following motion was passed, after hours of demanding discussion.

ST. VINCENT'S QUEEN CARNIVAL

He was one of the first to enlist in the R.A.M.C., and was appointed No. He was placed in charge of the departments assigned to the case manager, and here did most valuable work. He had been attached to the 23rd Battalion, with which his work was always of the best.

Our Medical School can be very proud of the work they have done. One was the composition of the Forces, and the other was their view of the situation. Tucked away in another corner was the body of the largest battleship conceived - a bigger sister to the.

Here was a genius, and it is told about him in the official "Story of the University of Edinburgh". Here is one of the most classic cases of despotism in the annals of medicine. By a retribution of justice, as rare as it was well deserved, the skeleton of Burke is still to be seen in the museum of the Anatomy Department of the University of Edinburgh.

I want to tell you how horrible and unpleasant some sophomores are. But if that was the case, why did Sushruta say that this "bayu" is located in the pelvic and rectal regions. But Sushruta said that this phlegm had accumulated in the cavity of the stomach.

Turning to the pride of the ayurvedic practitioner - his Pharmacopoeia - he (the speaker) found that the ayurvedic practitioner had indeed gone far for his drugs, and the list was an enormous one. Claude is with us, of course, and our argument from the previous Sunday continues. Felix Meyer shines through the translucent habits of the fine nurse who disappears through the door.

And we are quick to explain our instability to take away any of the glamor of romance. The younger of the two, whom one would immediately identify as the world-famous Ricardo. A disease of the nervous system characterized by stooping, bucoptosis (or drooping of the corners of the mouth), sad eyes and an expression like "iguana with a punctured gall bladder". Bury it.

Salivation and exophthalmos with sudden grinding of the teeth may also be the first symptoms noticed. The Pathologist, and the Clinical Pathologist (half-hourly officer), is compatible with the rest of the hospital work. One of the alleged drawbacks of clinical schools other than Melbourne has been the lack of P.M.

The sudden appearance of abdominal pain and the character of vomiting immediately suggest that it is an obstruction due to some mechanical factor. When we examine the abdominal signs, we find that the greatest distension and greatest tenderness are in the right and right lower abdomen, that is, the transverse colon is less distended than the ascending colon. Once the site of the obstruction has been located, the next step is to find, if possible, the causative agent operating in the case.

However, the point of maximum distension and the situation of the initial pain lead to the groin area being considered innocent of the cause. The partial reducibility and the clear impulse of the umbilical hernia immediately rule this out, an additional point here being the situation of maximal distension. The history of weight loss and loss of strength makes it necessary to consider malignant intestinal disease as the cause.

The complete absence of any symptoms of previous obstructive attacks and the absolute suddenness of the onset are sufficient to rule it out. Of these, a band of adhesion is unlikely due to the absence of prior peritonitis or prior surgery. A condition of obstruction in the ascending colon near the hepatic flexure, together with sudden onset, points to volvulus as the cause.

Post-mortem findings.—Volvulus of the ascending colon just below the hepatic flexure; gangrene of the ascending colon and cecum; perforation with generalized peritonitis, dynamic distention of the colon distal to the obstruction.

Cerebro-Spinal Fever

According to the place of deposition of the exudate (the exudate varies from gelatinous lymph to definitive pus), cortical, basal and cortico-basal types of meningitis can be described. (3. The findings do not support the gastrointestinal portal of entry of the meningococci as by Goeppert asserts. (6. The Lymphatic System may show marked glandular enlargement, especially of the cervical, submaxillary and mesenteric nodes.

The clinical picture varies depending on the type of case, but also with the stage of the disease. Active immunization of the carrier by vaccine treatment, administration of urotropin, which is secreted into the nasal mucus, and the use of antibacterial and antibacterial agents have all been advocated. The timetable has been significantly adjusted to meet this. the requirements of the Department of Defense.

Anatomy: a way to obtain a distorted conception of the human body by means of cadavers, formalin and Dicky. The same day several tubes of a valuable drug (about 16o6 value) mysteriously disappeared (= no one saw it go) from one of the rooms in the O.P. It was unanimously decided that Mac was the greatest social success ever seen in the hospital and his Twin Bed pajamas were the admiration of the nursing staff.

In an issue of "B.M.J." A few months ago, comments were made on the application of a junior practitioner to apply for a position as a resident in an English hospital. The attitude of hospitals in the past, and the real value of residents to hospitals, is proved by the recent advertisements of the Women's, Children's, and Alfred Hospitals for residents at a rate of £150 and detoo p.a. 34;A.E.P.'s" article is termed "superficial and contemptible, attempting to denigrate the sacred side of the medical pro-.

Frank Lind and Jim Black, ill.—Jackson, from Bendigo, 8th Batt., since ill.—Gordon Moodie, at Cape Helles, with an artillery brigade.—Maplestone, Wilkinson, Teddy Cordner, with 6th F.A.—Tom Brennan , ill after doing excellent work. On our outgoing transport I came across several other Melbourne men, also in the R.A.M.C., among them "Tut".

This hospital ship work in the busy times of August was pretty tough, especially on the ships we were in, old cargo and cattle boats, not the best from an aseptic point of view. One day we went ashore at Lemnos to visit the 3rd Australian Stationary Hospital, incidentally the best equipped on the island, and had tea with Arthur Wilson and "Bull" Sherwin.

Gaunt & Co Proprietary Limited,

Still, we had a few merry evenings, and on the 3rd A.S.H. some good dinners were available. There, besides Wilson and Sherwin, I met Maclure, Colonel Stawell, Upjohn, Brennan, and others; while the 2nd Australian S.H., also very close by, had Jimmy Downing and Powell, and also "Boss" Abbott, who was a patient there at the time. After ten weeks of this game I was done, as I developed a fever and epidemic jaundice and was sent to the 3rd A.S.H. sent, where I had Wilson, Maclure, and Honman as fellow patients. Later we were sent across the Aquitania to England and after a short hospital stay we were granted leave.

Wilson is now staying with me in Ireland, and we manage to have some fun, but we wish we were back in Melbourne for a while.

Os Completely.—Your Rablasian outrages held until the Editor gets drunk enough to defy the world. Henry.—We are willing to credit you with the best intentions for sending us your war poems. For Calliope's sake and ours, use Bristol board rather than blotting paper, a pen rather than a straw, and don't waste your soup when you can splatter ink in a masterful way.

Post-partum.—Inspired by King John; Act III., Scene IV., and the zeitgeist bursts thus wisely:—. We don't see why we should suffer such anguish while the world goes free, so here you are—. As time went on and manhood reached the "Shop," he came, and began as we all do, to try to make his name.

Just as he played in peaceful times, the same lie fought in war, And played his part like a hero where on far Gallipoli's shore. And there he died a terrible loss to all who knew his worth, Down in the valley they buried him - Given back to Mother Earth. This will ultimately benefit us and increase the value of our advertising columns.
