Traversing the Globe:
the L’Estrange photographic legacy
All the photographic equipment and ephemera in these cabinets belonged to Robert Augustus Henry L'Estrange (1858-1941) . As an amateur photographer, collector, family chronicler, Irish emigrant to Queensland in the mid-1880s, his extraordinary global photographic legacy allows us a glimpse of early
photographic practices, historical events and places in Queensland’s history and across the world.
Please see the interactive display on the Data Wall, E Block, Kelvin Grove, QUT campus from 8am-1pm, May 10-15, 2021.
