ENROLMENT

Contact Student Records about administrative matters related to your enrollment. The Student Records contact number, including an email address, IS listed on pages 4/5 of this handbook Whenever you contact Student Records or other offices in the. If you wish to take leave from your studies, you should first seek advice from the Course Coordinator or Admrmstrat1ve Officer (Academic). When you make a dec1sron, you must contact Student Records. All students wishing to take a leave of absence from their studies will be required to complete a Change of Enrollment Application/ Leave of Absence Form Failure to apply for a leave of absence may result in the student losing their place on the course.

UNIVERSITY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

UNIVERSITY TERMINOLOGY

Theme Codes - Theme codes consist of a four-digit alpha code followed by a four-digit d1g1t code. These eight characters form a common subject code, for example EDSP 4003 - Gifted Children. These should be provided whenever you ask questions or enter a topic. Theme Coordinator – the academic staff member responsible for the theme. I STUDYING ALONE

If working with other students appeals to you and your circumstances allow, you may want to be part of a Mutual Support Group. BACHELOR, GRADUATE CERTIFICATE AND MASTERS

Non-SA TAC Code The Master of Special Education is a 72 umt course program offered for a fee by the Faculty of Education Humanities, Law and Theology. To qualify for the Master of Special Education, a student must complete 72 UMTS with a grade of P or NGP or better in each subject.

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE, GRADUATE DIPLOMA AND

Details of the Mental Health Sciences stream with the Graduate Certificate in Health can be found on page 47. Unless approved by the Faculty Board, the program must be completed in 12 consecutive semesters.

BACHELOR, GRADUATE CERTIFICATE, GRADUATE

Except with the permission of the Faculty Board, the course must be completed within six consecutive years. Except with the permission of the Faculty Board, the program must be completed full-time in two consecutive semesters or part-time in four consecutive semesters.

BACHELOR AND MASTERS

This is an I 08 umt course for which all students receive 72 units of credit Except by permission of the Faculty Board, the course must be completed within four consecutive years. Clinical placements are compulsory and will normally be undertaken in weekly blocks Except with the permission of the Faculty Board, the program must be completed full-time in three consecutive semesters or part-time within 12 consecutive semesters. Students undertaking Pathway 3 will be required to undertake one of the following M1dw1fery specialty streams (leading to reg1strat1on as m1dw1fe) [not offered in 200 I].

This topic is designed to enable students to develop areas of interest derived from the theoretical and research literature. Context of Remote Health Care I is concerned with the cultural, social and economic context of remote health care in Australia and will facilitate the development of students' understanding of health care. In a remote context based on a philosophy of primary healthcare and cultural safety. This topic will introduce the registered and student midwife to the past, present and potential role of the m1dw1fe in Australia by examining historical and current issues in midwifery practice. This topic is intended to provide students with a framework of feminist theory for considering women's health issues. By the end of the topic, students should be able to do this.
