International students must be registered as a m1dw1fe rn the country where they mtend to undertake cl1n1cal experience

PROGRAM OF STUDYA students program of study must be approved by the Program Approver
This 1s a I 08 umt course for which all students receive 72 units of credit Except with perm1ss1on of the Faculty Board the course must be completed within four consecutive years
To qualify for the Bachelor of M1dw1fery a student must complete 36 umts with a grade of P or NGP or better m each topic according to the program of study below
Not all option topics necessarily are available in a given year
Not all core topics are available in each semester therefore a change 1n mode of study from full time to part time or vice versa is likely to interrupt the program of study
Clinical placements are compulsory and will normally be undertaken m weekly blocks A student who fails the practice component of any topic will receive a Fail grade for that topic A student may at any time be precluded or removed from a d1mcal placement
The award of a grade of Fail (F) in the same topic on more than one occasion may constitute pnma fac1e evidence of unsatisfactory progress for the purposes of the Un1vers1ty s policy on Student Progress

2 Notwithstanding the provisions of Clause I a person may be required as a prerequ1s1te for enrolment as a doctoral student to undertake and to complete to the sat1sfact1on of the Board such qual1fy1ng studies as the Board prescribes

STUDY REQUIREMENTS5 Except with the permission of the Board a full time student for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy shall pursue the approved program of studies for a pen0d of not less than two and not more than four years and six months and a part time student for a period of not less than three and not more than nine years from the month from which enrolment commenced
6 At the conclusion of the approved program of studies or within the approved period as specified in Clause 5 above each student for the degree shall present a thesis embodying the results of the work done while enrolled and containing a s1gmficant contribution to knowledge or scholarship within the scope of the subject
7 The thesis presented for the degree shall not contain material which has been accepted for the award of any other degree or diploma nor shall it contain any material previously published or written by another person except where due reference 1s made 1n the text of the thesis or tn the notes
8 Except with the perm1ss1on of the Board 1n the case of a person who 1s required to undertake qualifying studies any work undertaken before the completion of the qualifying studies shall not be presented for the degree

EXAMINATION9 The Board shall appoint at least two examiners who shall be external to the University and may appoint add1t1onal examiners
I 0 The examiners shall each submit to the Board a written report on the students thesis I J After considering the reports of the
