This law comes into force on a date to be determined by the Governor in the Council by proclamation published in the Government Gazette. This Act is administered by the Minister and, subject to the Minister, by the Chief Inspector, the Deputy Chief Inspector, other inspectors and other officers designated for the purposes of this Act.
2) (a) From among the commissions submitted to him, the Minister may appoint one or more suitable persons to represent the workers of the district. A person who is sixty-five years of age or older shall not be appointed as a District Workers' Representative.
Termination of the appointment of Local Workers' Representatives
The manager of the mine in respect of which such order is given shall immediately obey such order. The date of operation of a requisition shall be fixed in accordance with the following provisions of this sub-section, namely:-. a) if no objection is raised against complying with the requisition by the owner, authorized representative or manager of the mine for which or a part of which the requisition is issued within the period limited to this in this subsection. section, then the date of the execution of such requisition shall be the eleventh day from the date of such requisition; or (b) if an objection to complying with the subpoena is provided.
Owner or authorized representative not to interfere with manager
Within one month after mining operations in, on or around a mine have begun, ceased, resumed or been abandoned, the owner, authorized representative or manager must give notice of the fact to the custodian and the inspector. The occurrence of an accident in, on or around a mine will be prima facie evidence of negligence on the part of the driver.
A copy of the Gazette containing such notice shall be displayed in the office of each director in Queensland. Such rules are observed by persons working in, on or around the mine to which the rules apply with a view to maintaining order and discipline, protecting the health of these persons and the.

HIS Excellency the Governor, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council and in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section fifty-four "of the Mines Regulation Act dated, has been pleased to issue the following regulations for operation on and from the first day of June, 1964.

Damage or misuse an offence
The discharge end of the hose or pipe shall be secured so that air is discharged to the bottom of the sink or work surface unless otherwise approved by the inspector. The hours of shooting and any conditions imposed by the inspector shall be recorded in the record book and the hours and conditions may be changed or canceled as he deems necessary.
PART III
Unless the ladder extends at least three feet above the top of the opening or platforms, as the case may be, suitable handhold fixtures shall be provided above such ladder for use by persons ascending or descending the ladder. The materials and methods of construction and support of any ladder used in a mine shall be to the satisfaction of the inspector.
PART IV
Each winze must be sunk away from a travel path, unless otherwise approved by the inspector. 3) (a) When lighting more than one fuse, a type of igniter approved by the inspector must be used.
PART VI
On each occasion the rope on the drum must be re-arranged in a manner approved by the inspector. The design and construction of each cage or box must be approved by the inspector before use.
PART VII MACHINERY
No diesel engine may be used underground if it has a defect that could affect its safe operation. Analysis, by methods approved by the Chief Inspector of Air in places where diesel engines are used, shall be made at four weekly intervals or more frequently if the Inspector so directs, and the results of such analyzes shall be recorded.
PART VIII
If men are working in places remote from a source of water supply, suitable receptacles should be provided. Sufficient fresh hot and cold water shall be provided together with adequate wash basins and showers on a scale determined by the Inspector.

DIVISION I
Voltage means the potential difference between any two conductors with the following values at the power point: -. Extra low voltage normally means no more than 32 volts AC or 115 volts DC.
DIVISION II
- means the potential difference between any two conductors with the following values at the feed point: -. Low voltage normally means more than 32 volts AC or 115 volts DC, but in either case no more than 250 volts.
DIVISION III
Any addition to or alteration of existing electrical installation shall be deemed to be a new installation and these rules shall apply to such addition or alteration. Should at any time a defect be discovered which would render an installation dangerous, steps shall be taken to bring such installation into conformity with the requirements of these regulations. authorized representative or manager must immediately notify the electrical inspector in writing of the occurrence of a) Any accident due to the use of electrical energy resulting in loss of life or personal injury; or. h).
DIVISION IV
Routine inspections and tests shall be carried out to the satisfaction of the Electrical Inspector as required by these Regulations. It is the duty of every worker on electric lines or equipment to--. a) use appropriate protective measures in an appropriate manner;
DIVISION V
Newly installed devices, devices that are being returned to a new position and devices that are about to be used after a standstill of more than one month should be examined and tested before being put into service. An approved instrument or instruments suitable for carrying out the required tests shall be provided by the manager and shall be used by the person carrying out such tests.
DIVISION VI
The room or niche used to install the appliance must be dry and properly ventilated, taking into account the description of the appliance and its use. Properly designed clamps attached to insulated rods or other equipment approved by the Electrical Inspector shall be used for grounding purposes.
DIVISION VII
Open ends through which cables pass must be flared or shaped in such a way as to prevent wear on the insulation of the cables. The switching equipment must be of the approved type which provides automatic protection to the conductors and.
DIVISION IX
For the purpose of these regulations, a fusible cutout is considered to be of the "high breaking capacity" type i f. Remotely controlled inclined conveyor systems or conveyor systems must be provided with a convenient means of stopping the rope or conveyor at any point along its journey.
DIVISION X
Any circuit breaker must be located so that the arc, as a result of its operation, cannot touch objects other than a part of the circuit breaker and cannot ignite combustible material. Any main supply line connected to the busbars in the generator or transformer station or main switch room supplying the mine shall be provided with an ammeter on the main switch board when the total power delivered by such supply exceeds 5 kilowatts.
DIVISION XI
All connections of the earth conductor to the installation and to the earthing system itself must be in an accessible position and must not be exposed to possible mechanical injury. -286 97 (ii) Fixtures of switching devices (including fixed lights associated therewith). the pole connected to the metal structures of the apparatus must be earthed;.
DIVISION XIII
The neutral point of the star winding of each polyphase system used for high-pressure or extra-high-pressure supply may be connected to earth or may be isolated. If the neutral point is not connected to ground, a separate electrostatic voltmeter must be connected permanently between each system and ground; and if the reading of the voltmeter shows that the insulation of any of the circuits in a system is defective, steps shall be taken immediately to restore the insulation.
DIVISION XIV
A portable machine will not be repaired until the pressure is cut off and the towing cable is disconnected from the associated switchgear. 3) All mobile machines and portable face machinery operating at a voltage above extra low shall be individually protected by approved automatic leakage protection, and shall be additionally protected by approved earth continuity equipment. A person authorized to operate a mobile machine shall not leave the controls of such machine while it is in operation and shall, before leaving the workplace, ensure that the pressure is cut off from the towing cable operating such mobile machine provide.
DIVISION XV
Bonding must be regularly tested for continuity in accordance with the provisions of these regulations. All proper precautions must be taken to prevent the trolley wire from coming into contact with any other electrical circuit or any metal structure used in carriage or transportation.
DIVISION XVI
Special provision must be made for bonding around all points, cleats or gaps in the track, to ensure continuous return. Suitable provision must be made for the effective disposal of all wet or damp transport; the roadways and any water dripping from the roof must be routed clear of the trolley wire and track.
PART XI CERTIFICATES
Thereafter, this approved certificate shall be registered and shall thereafter be equivalent in all respects to the specified certificate issued under the Act. If the investigation is not conducted by the Board collectively, the evidence will be taken in writing and forwarded to the Board for consideration.
PART XII WINDING LICENSES
Upon application to the Board of Examiners by the holder of a winding license for a change to the class or classes of winding engine in respect of which the license is granted, the Board may grant such change after being satisfied that the applicant is competent to hold the license as different. If the investigation is not conducted by the Board collectively, the evidence will be taken in writing and forwarded to the Board for consideration.
PART XIII MISCELLANEOUS
Enclosed is the certificate held by me under the Machinery Inspection Acts, 1951 to for the above class of winding motor. Enclosed is the qualification for the above class of winding motor granted to me by.
