Subject to this Act, the Commissioner Pass.enger shall servwe. a) grant any person an authorization to supply and perform a service for the carriage of. (b) approve the vehicles to be used to carry out any approved passenger transport.
The Commissioner may, under and in accordance with the provisions of this Part, determine the amount of compensation payable by the licensee in respect of its licensed passenger service as extended. A license fee in the amount or at the rate determined by the Commissioner shall be payable by each holder of a passenger transportation license. Such license fee shall, at the discretion of the Commissioner,-. a) an amount determined by the commissioner; or (b) an amount per cent as determined by the.
If the payment of a fee is a condition for issuing a permit, the amount of this fee shall be paid in full to the Authorized Officer before the permit is issued. In relation to a permit, a fee payable— (a) in relation to the carriage of passengers,. J.llay, at the discretion of the Commissioner, be-. i.) fixed amount;. Diminution in value of any vehicle or other property due to loss of passenger.
Provided that the license fee in respect of any such licence, at the discretion of the Commissioner, shall be-. a) an amount fixed by the Commissioner;. Every passenger service license shall be in substance or in effect Form No. 1 in the Third Appendix of these Regulations.
The numbered ticket issued to each particular passenger in respect of each journey shall show the amount of fare charged for the carriage of such passenger on such journey. The commissioner may vary, amend, add, vary or revoke any of the terms or conditions of a permit. After the expiration of the period for which the permit is in force, the Permit immediately submits the said permit to the Commissioner.
Part 5-Driving Hours Driver's log book
The weight of goods carried on or in any such vehicle shall be deemed to be the difference between the gross weight of the laden vehicle and the unladen weight of the vehicle as shown on the certificate of. Provided that such fare shall not be payable unless the driver of such cabin shall, before the commencement of a hire, have agreed with the hirer thereof as to the weight of the baggage to be carried. There must be seating to the Commissioner's satisfaction for five passengers in addition to the driver. Interior lighting.-Every cab shall be equipped with one or more lights to provide sufficient illumination throughout the interior of the cab for the convenience of the passengers.
Such entrance and exit shall be clear of all obstructions, a minimum width of 22 inches, a minimum height of 6 feet from the lowest step to the top of the entrance and exit, and, except in the case of an omnibus motor referred to in subparagraph (b) of this paragraph, shall have a handle approved by the Commissioner placed on each side thereof. Each such entrance and exit shall be not less than 22 inches in width when measured from the height of the seat and shall not be less than 4 feet 6 inches in height from the floor level to the top of the door at the entrance and exit such. Have a step no less than the width of the entrance and no less than 9 inches in transverse depth.
Regulations 129 (iii.) In every double-decker omnibus there shall be provided at the rear at least two emergency entrances and exits, one placed above and the other below, at the level of the upper floor. Provided that every luggage compartment located at the extreme rear of the passenger compartment of every omnibus shall be so constructed as to permit immediate access to the emergency exit. For the comfort and safety of passengers a suitable number of wrist straps, hand grips or rails shall be provided to the satisfaction of the Commissioner.
Rear axle protectors. - The drive shaft must be fitted with a safety strap or housing so that the front end of the drive shaft, if released from its normal position, cannot fall to the ground. There must be a floor area of not less than 20 cm measured from the vertical plane at the front of the seat.
